Beautiful Trail Ride With Great Company!
My boyfriend and I came up to Vancouver area for a trip together and did the 2 hour trail ride. Caitlyn was our guide and a wonderful job teaching us an about the farms and wildlife nearby as well as answering the multitude of questions my boyfriend had about horses. We definitely wanna try to come for another ride during cranberry harvesting season to see the flooded fields! We rode Lucky and Carson, who were very sweet horses with lots of personality! Thank you all for having us!
Thanks so much for your lovely review. We appreciate the feedback and we would love to see you both again if you are back in the area.

Just a great horse trekking adventure more than suitable for a complete novice.
Just back to downtown Vancouver after spending a fantastic couple of hours horse trekking with the lovely Janet from Leghorn ranch. The best way to get there is by Uber, roughly £55 Canadian dollars each way. Great family run ranch with really tame well trained horses. We had never ridden before and had a basic lesson on mounting steering, riding and dismounting before the ride which filled us with confidence we knew we were in safe hands. The 1 hour trek was lovely seeing some great countryside, trekking through the blueberry fields and even went through a small river. Overall I simply can’t recommend this adventure enough. We loved it. Thanks to all at Leghorn Ranch.
Thanks so much for your lovely review. We enjoyed meeting you both and showing you the best of Pitt Meadows. Hope you enjoyed your final night in Vancouver and thanks so much for choosing our ranch for your ride. Have a safe trip home.

    Western Riding in Canada
Thank you Loreen and moonshine for that lovely ride along the alloutte river!!! I had booked a 2-hour ride and was lucky enough to be alone with Loreen. A remarkable woman! At the Leghorn Ranch you can see that the horses are treated with respect. Wonderfully trained, sensitive animals. Unfortunately, I have experienced other riding stables where tourists are simply put on horses without being critical. Not so here! In a short riding lesson you are introduced to the western riding style. It is impressive how well Moonshine reacted!!!!!!

    An amazing horseback riding experience!
When planning a trip to the area I found Leghorn Ranch for a horseback riding adventure with my sister. The horses, people and scenery did not disappoint! I had such an amazing time I went back again just a few days later and it was equally wonderful. Truly I can't say enough good things about the ranch and my experience with the trail leaders and the beautiful horses. Planning on making the trip just to ride again.

My wife and I took the two hour horse trek through frozen blueberry fields. Some incredible scenery here as the clouds lifted to reveal snow-covered mountains.

We did this as a morning trip straight from Vancouver airport and would recommend to anyone who has a few hours spare in Vancouver as it is close enough to the city.

Hanif and Janet were great and shared a lot of local knowledge. We saw two bald eagles and did a river crossing which were the trip highlights.

Will be back in Summer next time we pass through Vancouver!

Even tho it's been a while I don't want to keep my experinces away from other tourists.I had the possibility to go on a lot of trail rides with Janet and Hanif. Not only do Hanif and Janet have a wide knowledge about the area they live in but also about their horses. Both working with horses for the most part of their life they will give you one of the best experiences you can get. The trail rides they provide for you are spectacular, both the shorter and the longer ride. You will get a view of Pitt Meadows and British Columbia you will never forget, no matter how the weather is. Hanif and Janet are super talkative and happy to have a chat with you and also share their knowledge about activities in the area. If you're lucky you might be able to spot some bears! For everyone (especially if you're not living in BC) it's an absolute sensation to experience the wildlife so close. They have very experienced and friendly guides which will be happy to guide you through the beauty of Pitt Meadows. Hanif and Janet are always keen on making their customers the most satisfied! You can expect to get some photos on your horses as a great addition to your memories you'll have within your ride. They are always making sure everyone's safe, they will take give you an explicit instruction about how to properly lead the horse and they will take time to give you a good feeling even when you're a little anxious first. They take good care of smaller children too as they're assigned to the loving ponies and are guided by rope if necessary. They treat their horses the best way they can, I can tell a 100 percent that the horses are treated with respect and patience and are never missing anything on the Leghorn ranch. Hanif and Janet know exactly which horse to assign you too since they've known their horses for years. Do not miss going on a trail ride with them!

The birthday parties they have for smaller kids are absolutely lovely and adequate for the kids age. They have lots of fun activities and I've never experienced one single kid going home at the end of the day without a big smile on their face.

They also provide summer camps for kids and for me personally I can only say that every kid would love to get the opportunity to have such a fun week. They have multiple activities for kids of different ages and also depending if it's half day or full day summer camp. The children learn so much about horses, rope tying, horse saddles and much more, but not to forget they get the chance to have super fun riding lessons!

You can't do anything wrong with choosing leg horn ranch for trail rides, birthday parties or summer camps. You can only do wrong with choosing not to get to know Hanif, Janet, their horses and their farm!

I was blown away by the professionalism and attitude at Leghorn ranch. We took the kids out for a birthday party and they had a blast. We were originally nervous booking as the kids were only 6 and 7 years old. However, from the minute we arrived we felt confident that the girls were in good hands. The staff was wonderful with the kids and adults. The scenery was stunning and a good pace for our first time in a long time on horseback. All four of our horses were incredibly calm and responsive to commands and my initial nerves were calmed quickly when I realized how well behaved the horses were despite OUR lack of experience. Thanks so much to everyone at Leghorn and next time we will be back for an even longer ride!

Janet was so helpful over the phone, and super nice in person. I was a little nervous about being on a horse, but she made me feel super comfortable and safe. Hanif/ cowboy took us on the trail ride, and he was so friendly and had us laughing the whole time. I would recommend this to family and friends for a fun day! He even took photos of us on the horse, which I felt was going above and beyond. Very memorable experience!

Our family of 5 adults and 5 children had the pleasure of riding together through the gorgeous mountains and fields outside of Vancouver, BC. The younger children had guides on the ride, and everyone had riding instruction before we got on the trail. Our ages of 77 through 4 1/2 years old was not a problem. Everyone was comfortable and bonded with their horse. Though I hadn't ridden in quite a while, the horse I rode was trained so well that I did not experience any concerns. While on the trail, the guide and handlers gave us information about our surroundings and wildlife, which was very interesting. Even though he'd never ridden before, the youngest rider was comfortable with a big smile on his face. We did a one-hour trail ride, which was perfect for our group. If I get to go riding again at Leghorn Ranch, I'd go for the 2-hour ride.

We had a 1 hour ride with our 11 and 13 year old who only previously had experience with mini horses at the PNE. I was a bit worried before we went because of the lack of experience with such big animals, but our guides Denise and Janet were super experienced and it made us feel very safe. The horses were so very gentle and calm it was just an amazing hour long walk in the horses. The kids also saw a bear up close for the very first time during our horse back riding. They couldn’t stop talking about about it after the ride. The owner was friendly and funny too. They apparently host summer camp program which we would definitely look into next year. Will definitely go again. This was probably the highlight of our summer among other activities we do.

What a way to reconnect with nature! The experience was really good from beginning to end. Friendly gentle horses. Rode Lucky around the corral first and was instructed how to start, stop and turn horse. We did the 2 hour trail ride. It was just my friend and I with Janet, the leader. Beautiful scenery on a bright sunny morning. Light breeze kept us cool. I loved it all but the best part for me was when the horses walked through the river. Janet the lead was amazing and entertaining. Just go do it!!!! You will not regret it. I know that I will return.

The trail ride was amazing! My sister and I are twins and we had never gone horseback riding before, so my mom suggested that we go horseback riding for our 10th birthday as a gift. My sister is afraid of all animals, so when she saw the horses she was nervous. When it was time for my sister's training class, she didn't want to get on the horse, but the staff were patient and waited for her a long time. Finally, my dad picked my sister up and put her on her horse. When it was time for me to get on my horse, I was also a little nervous, but I brought up my courage and sat on the saddle on the horse. At first, I was a bit scared, but when the staff showed me how to control the horse, I was not scared anymore.
Soon our trail ride started, the staff held the rope of my sister's horse, so it can help my sister be more relaxed on the horse. After a while, my sister was not scared at all, she even wanted to let go of the horse and lift her hands, so my dad who was behind her had to remind my sister to hold on to the horse. I was very happy on the horse, and whenever my horse wanted to stop to eat some grass, and I lost control of the horse, one of the staff beside me would help me immediately. All the staff were so kind and I had so much fun, it was the best day of the whole summer!!!

Beautiful, friendly horses and stunning scenery wherever you look! Hosts are very welcoming and safety oriented and made sure everyone was comfortable during the entire trip. The experience is worth every penny. IMHO, the best horse ranch in Lower Mainland.

Wonderful day yesterday with my son & superb guide along the dike trail and through the Alouette River watershed. Carson was a great looking & easy to ride horse for someone who only rides every few years. Would recommend the Leghorn Folks for providing a very special experience.
