I am confused...has covid made beef scarce? The rule of 2 steaks per person not making much sense to me. And having no mention of that fact anywhere I could find on your website sure messed up my dinner plans. And not having any weekly sale items also a confusing thing for me. In a time when we need, appreciate and seek out a discount, it seems like you are being a bit greedy. Your products still top notch, but my opinion of you being a community friendly business has certainly lowered.

During this time we had low inventory and had to place temporary limits. We are so sorry for the inconvenience!

Pretty good place......reasonable meat selection and you can get some food for eat in or take out if you want. However, my criticism lies with their produce section. On my last visit I bought a 4 lb. container of blueberries, they looked fine from the top view.
But when I got them home and picked through them, I must have thrown out at least a pound. Many of the berries were either old and shrivelled or becoming rotten. Not impressed. And then on the previous visit I bought a bag of avocados which appeared hard and need of ripening. After a couple days I cut into one.......brown, black and rotten but still firm to the touch from the outside. I checked the rest and all were the same. Maybe just a bum shipment, but a waste. And the 3rd issue was the corn.......husks were black and moldy looking, so not appealing.

Hopcott Farms is known for the very best meat but when I ordered a Cheeseburger in their cafe (in the same building) I was shocked. I don't think I have ever had such a bad beef (?) patty. It was dense, hardly looked like meat (more like brown sponge) and zero flavor. I couldn't see a grill (should have been my first sign) and this "burger" looked like it was warmed up in a microwave. Please take it off the menu as it does damage to a place that sells amazing beef. If you want a burger, go to McDonald's, it's better.

Hi Andrea, so sorry to hear this. Not sure what happened as, yes, our premium beef is what we serve in the bistro. Please allow us to host you again on a complimentary basis to better experience the Bistro.

I live on the north shore which is about as far from Pitt meadows as the moon but I was delighted to have discovered this treasure when I happened to be in the area. I honestly would consider the trip again if only to visit this place. I shopped here in late September and bought the tastiest local beefsteak tomatoes imaginable, crispy and very sweet yellow and red watermelon, apples that tasted tree fresh , and probably the best steak Ever. Remember that this is the end of the season but there was a great deal of variety in the fresh local produce. The staff were all so delightful and I think one of the sweet ladies in the bistro was one of the owners. I would recommend this as a day trip if you live in Vancouver. I was completely xnd pleasantly blown away with my visit. Still smiling when I think about it...

Located on Old Dewdney on the Pitt Meadows side of the bridge, they have ample parking available outside the store.

Having not used them before for our meat, we recently tried their steaks rather than driving to Costco on a weekend. We picked up a couple of filet steaks, which also incur a substantial price premium. On returning home I was highly disappointed to find them cut close to the tail end of the tenderloin.

I love this shop! One of the best places to pick up your meat. The beef is exceptional just like every other product they sell. You will find high quality pork, chicken and deli selections ! The BEEF is what I come for.. they dey age everything for at least 25 days. If you don't know the difference in wet aged steaks you get from most butchers and grocery stores from dry aged meat you have got to give it a try!!!

! 60oz tomahawk steak to a beautiful medium rare. Also my first time doing it sous vide and finished with a blow torch and butter ! with a side of roasted beets, and seasoned potatoes in bacon fat and grilled sweet peppers, asparagus and green onions also brushed with bacon fat and seasoning.

The meat is "raw" "aged naturally" , tastes of "raw" meat and barnlike odours and smells. The same way I experienced as a child on our farm growing up , where quarters were hung for several days or months. it'sI great if you are an "organic" person, enjoying freshly butchered meat, without Hormones or long aging techniques. Not for me, than ks.

Not only is the meat quality excellent, I really enjoy the prepared meats and poultry. All the fuss and bother of prepping Maui ribs and such is done for you and everything is ready to go. Enjoyed the new Bistro as well. Great place to stop off for a small meal that is prepared in front of you with quality product. Have always liked being able to purchase veggies at the same venue. Saves me a trip to another store.

We like to shop here on occasion as we like the farm to table idea presented here.
I do find that the veggies and fruit are more often not local and we have noticed that we get better customer service elsewhere.
I've also felt that when I asked for specific things or had questions the front help staff were not knowledgeable and I've Bought the wrong cut or had to go elsewhere for what I was looking for.
on the plus they do have some good specials now and then and they are local and are active within the community đź‘Ť
value for your dollar is better spent elsewhere

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. We deeply appreciate it! Your feedback is very appreciated and we'll take note of the issues you mentioned to better serve our customers. Just a quick note that seasonal produce starts in spring and extends until fall.

I go to Hopcotts nearly every Saturday (it's not open on Sundays) and stock up on their superb meat for the week. Not only does their product taste far superior to anything you can buy in local grocery stores it also feels healthier as it's not full of hormones, preservatives or other unwanted chemicals. For that, sure, you pay a premium but what is your health worth to you? And, like today, if you ask for something to be cut to your specifications, they do it with a smile. They didn't even blanch when I began to describe what I want done to a turkey. (Road Kill Turkey--you'll never cook it the old fashioned way again!) I'm no longer eating sausages but when I was, I knew I could count on Hopcotts for several tasty versions made in their own plant--some of which are gluten free. Their steak bites and buffalo bites and various jerkies are also very good. I have a child who lives on perogies when his parents aren't cooking and Hopcotts stocks two very good brands. They also have a number of stuffed and flavoured chicken products. (I'll confess I've never tasted the latter. My favourite stuffed chicken was the brie and cranberry, before I started dieting) They have a selection of breads and buns, cheeses and lots of rubs and spice mixes as well as fancy pickles and other pricier condiments, honey, tinned tomatoes. They carry milk and eggs as well as huge luscious fruit pies and meat pies in the coolers at the end of the room. They try to carry local produce although I noticed that some bananas and other exotics have crept in and I appreciate that on days when I don't want to go somewhere else to finish my shopping.
