When our daughter's school went to Intermiel and she couldn't attend the field trip, we told her we would go as a family over the summer ... got to say I'm happy she missed the field trip that day because we had a wonderful time!

Intermiel is located a good 45 minutes away from Montreal. Therefore, if you are coming to visit from outside, be aware that it is a nice drive. However, once you are there, you can make a day of Mirabel/St-Joseph-du-Lac areas - there are loads to do and it's worth the treck.

Upon arrival, we paid for our activity/guided tour. The pp was reasonable :50$/ 2 adults + 2 children.

The guided tour lasted about 2 hours and was very very informative and interactive.
Isabelle, was our guide, was un vrai bijou - she's a real jewel - her passion was palpable, she was very patient with kids, answered everyone's questions and had unmeasurable knowledge.

Isabelle makes Intermiel shine by her passion and dedication.

She explained to us how beehives work: we got to actually see the inside of a beehive, and how it is structured and organized.

At the end of our tour, we got to sample some honey (so so so good) and then some other products that are made on site such as honey based alcohols and a really impressive 100% maple based liquor called Gelinotte which is a must try! (do it!)

When we finished, we visited the gift shop which has an impressive array of honey based (and other) goods to buy. It's easy to get carried away because everything is so tempting.

Highly recommend!

Well the place is in the middle of nowhere.....buy if you happen to be in the area....
A great place indeed if you are a honey connoisseur. Products aplenty for sale. The mini farm and playground would be a hit for young ones although that one horse was kind of standoffish and didn't care any for socializing. Nice seats and tables to relax by the animals. Didn't notice a tour of any kind. Bi-lingual service indoors.

This is not BillyBee. The owners care about our pollinators and keeping them around for the next generation, if you care about the environment this is your store !

I have been wanting to visit Intermiel for a while now. Finally made it there today. It has a tasting counter in the middle of the store so you can taste the various types of honey's Maple syrups and Honey alcohol (Wines, Meads, Vermouths etc...). I also learned about the bee pollen and all the healthy nutrients it contains and the benefits. We didn't take the tour this time but we do plan on heading out there again soon. They have 3 tours a day in the summer. During the week the 11h and 13h visits are more for day camps visitors and the 15h and weekend visits for the others.

What a place. And, with over time they have upgraded the facility. We have been going there for many years. Try the Fir Tree (Spruce) Honey.
Oh, a new product Vermouth D'Erable(Maple Syrup).
This a great place for grand parents and grand children now that we have them.
Go as a couple - go alone.

I visited Intermiel, Monday, October 2, 2017 with my daughter and her family. I never knew how many ways honey can be used and how the different types of honey can help the body. Also available for sampling are a lot of their products including wine made from honey and candy.
There is an educational room that we all enjoyed and my 3 year old granddaughter enjoyed seeing the bees in the hive (glassed in) as well as some of the activities. There is also a tour which we just missed but something to do in the future. I came home with a very HEAVY suitcase.
