The Dockyard itself consists of souvenir shops, restaurants, a museum and a dolphin experience - all located within the historic buildings of the Royal Naval Dockyard. But what many visitors miss, we feel is the most compelling aspect of the Dockyard, which is the Royal Naval Cemetery, just a short walk from the Dockyard buildings. We spent several hours there exploring this hallowed ground reading the stories on the gravestones/memorial stones - fascinating! A beautiful, peaceful location - the history here is incredible, read the stories of those that were lost on their stones and prepare to be amazed and moved.

Royal Navy Dockyard has something for everyone. History, shopping, restaurants, entertainment. Snorkel Beach is walking distance from the pier. Lounge chairs are available along with a bar/restaurant and restrooms. Be warned there are glass pieces up and down the beach. Probably washing in from the water. There are many local excursion available.

Lovely spot - our ship docked there and there was lots to see and do. Museum was great. We also made use of the local bus to Hamilton. Met lots of characters on the bus. Had a nice time on the island. Because all the food has to be brought in - it is expensive to eat here. My favourite thing was listening to the tree frogs at night. They whistle.

This cruise docking area is right across from the former Royal & American fleet headquarters which is now a museum well worth a couple hours to explore. Nearby are a shopping mall, a ferry terminal, and restaurants. Taxis are also readily available.

We were introduced to Mr Quinton B Bean by friends who live on the island and have used his taxi service. Although he is a taxi driver, in his own air conditioned mini van, he is also the most informative and courteous guide round the island of Bermuda. His depth and spread of knowledge is phenomenal and he imparts it clearly and with humour. My husband and I spent a lovely four hours in his company and would do so again very happily if we had the time.

The one thing about Bermuda is that there is very little tourist trap attractions here. You can tell that the Island's economy is not reliant on tourism, it's insurance and financial services. There are no kiosks selling cheap Goods because the people who live here are all middle class are better. The dockyard has some nice stores a historic military Barrack and is the starting point for lots of fun excursions. If only all cruise ship ports were like this one!

We have stopped here twice while on two transatlantic cruises and it is clear Bermuda has invested money in the dockyard. It is right off the cruise ship with a museum, shops, restaurants, bars, visitors center, water park and a location to book or meet a variety of water or land tours. The area is easily walkable (flat) but there is a free shuttle ( in the summer) you can use as well. This visit , we walked around the dockyard and mingled in a few shops. We spent most of our time at the National Museum of Bermuda, which we enjoyed. There is certainly plenty here to enjoy a few hours close to the cruise ship.

If you arrive into Bermuda on a large cruise ship, you'll dock here. There's not as much to see as I thought there'd be, but the Dockyard area still makes for a lovely walk and it has some interesting shops to check out. The highlight is the Bermuda National Museum, a 5 to 10 minute walk from where ships dock. It's outstanding and shouldn't be missed. Otherwise, if you just take a walk to check out shops and restaurants, an hour or two should do it.

This is a beautiful place to visit. We stopped in as part of our Royal Caribbean cruise itinerary and selected to do the secluded beach excursion....it was amazing! Bermuda beaches are simply stunning, and there are even beautiful fish you can see swim by while you are in the water.

If you dock here you can safely explore this area. It is walkable, but not handicap- friendly. There is a blow up water park, a few restaurants, a rum shop, pharmacy, multiple art and pottery studios, the mall, multiple clothing and souvenir shops, a small park and splash pad, miniature golf, the dolphin experience, beach access for a fee, and the museum.
