I stayed here last Aug 2013. St George's is a time share hotel but is opened thru others using the internet booking agencies. The cottage has a room which is clean and is completely furnished. My room had a nice view the ocean. The cottages are far from the reception and the main road.

My wife and I recently spent a week here. It is in a great location. It is an easy 5 minute walk down hill to town and
waterfront restaurants. You can also catch the public buses or the ferry just down the hill.
The staff here are excellent. Check in was quick and easy and they were helpful our entire stay. The courtesy shuttle is also very convenient . They will take you to their beach area and the beach house restaurant. It goes right thru town and they are happy to drop you off or pick you up . This is very helpful if you pick up provisions at the local market or do not want to walk back up the hill after dinner . One driver, ,David, is very knowledgeable and helpful.
On return trips, they will take you as close to your unit as possible.
The unit we had was somewhat outdated, had only a queen bed, but, we had a great view. You are required to spend $60 per person at the on site restaurant , but it is not open everyday. If the requirement included the beach house restaurant with it's great sun set view , it would have been more tolerable.

There are more prestigious clubs to play on Bermuda, Mid-Ocean and Port Royal namely, but the great staff and the fact that you actually see the blue water on every hole, makes St. George and unbeatable stop to the golf tourist. Just to let you know, playing on such a small island, you would expect to see the ocean on every hole of every course, but on some, the ocean is visible on only 3-4 holes. St. George wins hands down on the 'view' category.

Once a lovely 18-hole, ocean-view course with pro shop & restaurant (the latter of which was delightful, and had the best Sunday brunch in the East End), St George's Golf Club no longer exists; TripAdvisor should take it off their listings for fear of misleading readers.

The resto and pro shop were demolished about 6 years ago; the golf course has run down since, to the present state of swale + trees growing up in abandoned fairways, greens, etc. Very sad mismanagement of a treasure of a golf course.

Bermuda Government efforts to re-sell, or to bring it back as a public course are "in the works," but have been at that colloquial stage for so long that the undertaking will be both lengthy and probably prohibitively costly. We were there at the beginning of January 2014, and one fairway and green had been cut (the old "10th"), plus the tees for the old "1st." We hope and pray that this is the beginning of something, but we are not holding our breath.

The St George's Club is the cottage/condo venue; don't confuse it with the "St George's Golf Club."

While out on our morning jog and hike, my husband and I came across what used to be a magnificent golf course. I say magnificent because the views of the ocean were fantastic .
What a shame that it's all weads. It's obvious that this side of the island's tourist industry is on decline because of the closing of this once magnificent attraction. I hope that someone will rescue it . I remember the town of St. George as a bustling area 20 years ago, such a shame to waste such beauty. It could be resurrected with the opening of the abandoned golf facilities.

great location for a great 18 hole golf course which is no longer there, the buildings were demolished to make way for a new and improved golf course and hotel which never happened. pretty sad walking through it on the overgrown cart paths now.

Just returned from St George, Bermuda. The golf course is no longer being cared for, the grass hasn't been cut in many many months. The sand traps are filled with weeds. The course is no longer active. What a waste! It is in a beautiful location overlooking the ocean. Hopefully someone will take charge and bring the course back!

I played this course in May, and I was overly impressed. It's a short course, all 3's and 4's. The views are spectacular. You can see the water from practically every hole, and some tee boxes provide spectacular vistas. In addition, the staff is very friendly. The woman at the pro shop even called a restaurant on the other side of the island and made dinner reservations for us. There's a lot of elevation change, and the wind can make some holes very challenging. I thoroughly enjoyed my round at St. George's, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
