This is set at the end of the painters pathway, it's a nice church the finish off the walk and move to think Vincent was there but other than that there wasn't much else there, seats outside for a sit down after the walk if you need them, plenty of shade, church wasn't open at the time we went in the afternoon, maybe about 4pm.

Van Gogh lived in this town for just over two months 130 years ago before his untimely death by his own hand. Among his many famous paintings is the fascade of this church.
But for him it would probably be a little known town church, now it is both famous and infamous (they refused to hold his funeral here).
Very pretty church inside to accompany the famous cascade.

This lovely stone church in the quaint and scenic town of Auvers sur Oise is the subject of one of Van Gogh's most well known paintings. If you just take photos of the facade, you will miss the charming interiors and the many small replicas and "versions" of Van Gogh's paintings inside the church. Take the approach from the back, and see the vintage stone houses that line the path to the church. Gorgeous!

The church is instantly recognizable as the one painted and immortalized by Van Gough. Although not a huge church, it is really pretty. The whole town has plaques detailing the life and works of van Gough, which I loved.

The church was one of Van Gogh’s famous paintings during his stay at Auvers sur-Oise. Small church but beautiful and still well maintained. The church can be reach as soon as we arrive at the city.

As always, so lovely, so full of history & always touches my soul when I enter & someone is playing the organ. I can see why Van Gogh painted this structure.

This church is best known because of the Van Gogh painting. We passed it several times before venturing inside. It's well worth the visit. It's a little Gothic gem that goes back to the 11th century.

This massive church, nicely situated up a hill from village center, is open to the public. I was surprised how massive and gray it was in comparison to Van Gogh's brilliantly colored painting of it. The only relief from the drab grayness inside was some beautiful stain glass windows. It is a sad tale that the priest of this church after Van Gogh committed suicide, would not allow Van Gogh's funeral to be at the church and refused to lend a hearse.

This church is not as outstanding as other churches in France, but it is worth visiting as part of the visit to Auvers-sur-Oise. Outside, one can see a sign (part of the tourist information) that shows van Gogh's painting of the church. It's amazing to see how a very plain-looking church is transformed by the artist.
