Located on the Costa del Sol, has proven itself as being one of the top marinas in the world. With many restaurants, shopping, attractions and nightlife. It has won the award "Best Marina in the World' several times. The Marina of Benalmadena officially opened in 1979, with the name "Port au Prince" but in1982 was named Puerto Marina Benalmadena. The thing that really stands out about the marina is its unique architecture/design, which has lead to its international recognition especially with our European tourists. Puerto Marina has a huge capacity to moor boats and yachts, with just over 1,000 moorings for boats from many different nationalities.  'Puerto Marina' is one of the Costa del Sol's busiest centres. There are loads of different shops including the shopping centre. On top of it all there is a large choice of quality restaurants. You are spoiled for choice. Fancy a drink or a dance? Or how about hitting a nightclub or pub? With well over 20 establishments, you will have difficultly to decide. Puerto Marina Benalmadena entails a big chunk of the town of Benalmadena and is a true touristic destination. There is also the  Harbour Master, hotels, and the beautiful promenade that leads to Puerto Marina Benalmadena Yacht Club. Plus, residential areas of luxury and an aquarium among other activities making it a destination for leisure tourism for the Med and it's beaches!!

Lots to see around the Marina, besides the many boat trips there's also lots of shops and restaurants. There's also a great little land train that tours the marina with an on-board commentary.

Quite a nice “promenade” with mainly shops on the lower deck and restaurants above. Plenty of pay parking but most things here carry a price premium due to the location. Good place to get a short boat ride with about 6 options for 10 Euro...More

I loved visiting the marina! There are loads of lovely restaurants and shops! Lots of boat trips run daily from the marina and there are different companies offering water sports! It is a great place to visit both in the day and the evening!

Amazing place how they got to build the appartments in the middle of the marina must have been a feat in itself

Hi thanks for your answer. In the end we booked a taxi on-line. It cost 23 euros plus a bank charge. We got a taxi back to the airport - he charged 18 euros!
