Very unusual to have this type of museum in a small Pueblo, it wouldn't be out of place in Malaga. Well worth visiting, it's free, educational for all age groups. Very well presented in a nice building. Spend half an hour or longer if you are more interested as it's only a small venue compared to other museums.

I've traveled a bit in Latin America and have been to a number of pre-Columbian museums so I've seen this stuff before. I was impressed by the excellent condition of many of the pieces here, especially the small clay figures. This small museum is free so what do you have to use. In the Benalmadena Pueblo.

Then go have... More

Impressive exhibition for a town this size. There are English guides available. Not for everyone who comes to the Costa del Sol but well worth a visit if this is your sort of thing.

This is a tiny museum and seriously needs to get some English translation, but it's got some great stuff. I hadn't appreciated the differences between the different civilizations and I thought the nazca's just made lines! I came away feeling that I had learnt something, but would probably have learnt more if I could read all the boards :-). It's... More

The Museo de Arte Precolombino Felipe Orlando was created in 2005. It is named for Felipe Orlando, a very rich Mexican art lover who lived in the Costa del Sol for a long time. His father gave him an inheritance of a very large collection of Pre-Colombian art. Since Mr. Orland was a close friend of the mayor of Benalmadena,... More
