    Well worth the drive
Long and murky, but once we arrived there was a wonderful beach waiting for us. When we arrived, there were only a few people on the beach and during the hours we were there, more and more arrived, but since the beach is so huge, it was noticeable. Fantastic surroundings with a wonderful beach and the mountains in the background I have to warn about the strong currents in the water which are very strong and it is also very far to help if something were to happen

Amazing beach but a slog to get to.
The beach is amazing and this was my 3rd time. The first 35 years ago and the second about 12 years ago. I would not bother again as its now popular a full of hire cars and visitors who cant drive on dirt tracks especially when hilly! Suggest go early or late. The restaurant is small but good value.

An adventure to get here but worth it
Tuesday 6th February and we visited this remote beach on the southern most tip of Fuerteventura. The beach  lies within the mountainous Jandía Natural Park. We drove the twenty kilometres to the beach  along a winding, unsurfaced and uneven track, an adventure itself. We followed the direction indicated by the one and only road sign. Along the way we did stop at the roadside, to take in the stunning views along the thirteen kilometres of beach and views of the Natural Park. This breathing beach with it's vast expanse of golden sands stretches along the coast and is surrounded and protected by the towering mountains of the Jandía Natural Park. It all combines to create some amazing scenery. There are no facilities here there are no sunbeds of sunbeds. As there are no trees here there is no natural shade. The beach is unattended and there is no lifeguard. The sands are washed by the water's of the turbulent Atlantic Ocean. Although it all looks very picturesque it is not considered safe for swimming due to the strong sea currents and rip tides. It is a popular place with windsurfers due to the strong winds. There is a small restaurant just before the track reaches the beach and a disused Cemetery on the beach It is possible to catch a bus from Morro Jable to this Beach.

    A Proper Wilderness Beach
We caught the bus from Moro Jable bus station. Arrive at the station early and bring cash, cards are not accepted. The bus driver turned away more than he could carry, hence get there early. The drive out was fun, on a dirt track with lots of hairpin bends. We stopped for photos on the ridge above the beach. The beach is vast and golden, with impressive surf. We walked for miles, in the wilderness, stunning. A must do!

The remotest beach on the planet!, perhaps not. It is though a challenging but worthwhile journey. Bucket list tick!
On the Canary island of Fuerteventura, Playa de Cofete and the road to Cofete are almost legendary. Many people visit Moro Jable and go no further, but this popular resort is the starting point of the road to Cofete on the other side of the island. It is best experienced in a 4x4 vehicle, and there is a 4x4 bus service from Moro Jable, but many people take their rental cars there in defiance of the rental companies rules. The reason they do so, is to see the magnificent spectacle of this wild beach and the landscape that it is set in. We went a step further and took our motor home there on the winding mountain unmade road, not something I would recommend, if you are not used to driving large vehicles on tight roads. You can see our video on YT. We didn't stay the night as was planed as the weather was cold and very very windy, rocking our mobile home, which was a shame, as it would have been wonderful to walk the seemingly unending beach if the weather was better. Many pictures, videos and reviews of this beach have been posted, and it really is amazing to see it first hand, all the pictures in the world cannot give you the true feeling of being in this amazing vast, natural location. If you decide to visit this amazing place, be aware it is very very remote, and although there is a (very) small village with a restaurant, it is best to take your own food and water as you need to be self-sufficient. Phone signal is also hit and miss on various parts of the "road". If you need to call for help it will be a long time coming…. This is most certainly a bucket list 'tick'

    Best Beach in Europe
The volcanic dirt road to Cofete is very long and somewhat dangerous as it’s very narrow and without any guardrails. Most car rental companies will not insure the car to be driven on the unpaved road to Cofete. Once you’ve reached the pass, and begin the drive down to the beach, it’s the most spectacular thing your eyes will ever see. The beach is absolutely stunning with the volcanic mountains in the backdrop. The surf is incredibly strong and dangerous to go past waist deep, but nothing beats the golden sand and isolation of this epic beach.

Beware of going to confetabeach!!!There is no doubt it is a beautiful location. I had a hire car but the insurance would not cover me for the rough track. I was travelling alone.
I took the bus from the main station in Morro. I arrived at 09:30 but was told the bus was full. The next bus was 14:00.
The 14:00 left 40 mins late because the bus door would not shut!
We finally arrived at Cofeta at 15:30 and were told the return bus was 16:15
I arrived at 16:15
The bus was late by which time there were several people waiting .
When the bus arrived there was a scrabble. Unfortunately because I am an elderly single lady I didn’t get my elbows out in time. The result was there were no seats on the bus. I was the only traveller not to get on . 2 other ladies quickly got a lift from other cars.
The conductor made it clear it was not his problem. I asked how he expected me to get back to morro 20 Km away . I offered to sit on the floor but he refused.
I was left at the bus stop. I am a tough old bird 67 years old. But I realised that I had to start walking. By this time it was nearer 17:00. Bearing in mind it would be dark in the next hour or so and the walk would take me at least 3 hours.
I walked 3 miles before I got a lift- didn’t expect to have to hitch hike at my age.
The bus service in Fuertaventura should hang its head in shame. They transport people out to Cofete and are happy to take the fare but give no indication that they may not provide a return service
If I had known there was a risk of being abandoned in a remote location would never have gone.
So beware it may be a long , dark walk home!

I don’t know which was more memorable, Cofete beach or the drive to get to the beach. Probably the drive!! I drove a small car and was fine but I probably would not have wanted a mini compact car for this road since it’s an Extreme dirt track with a length of 10.5km, leading to Cofete Beach.

The road is extremely narrow in some places, and includes steep drops to the side.

The route starts in the village of Morro Jable, head towards the commercial dock, just before reaching the dock, go down a slope, you are on the right with a dirt track marked Cofete. The ascent to the top of the Moro Mountain 230m of altitude (you can enjoy an amazing panoramic view of the beach) is not to bad but the descent which stretches about 5 miles of sinuous curves and sheer drops is intense.

Once you reach the bottom, there is a small shanty town with a bar and restaurant and then it’s another km or so to the large beach parking lot.

Cofete beach is beautiful with the mountain backdrop and the expansive beach as far as you can see.

Wednesday 11th November we had just been to visit the remote Faro de Jandia (Lighthouse) and we were heading back in the direction of Morro Jable.

From the signpost at Cofete Junction we drove a further 8 kilometres to Cofete through the mountainous terrain of the Natural Park of Jandia. The scenery on the way was spectacular with a variety of shapes and colours of rock formations.

The unsurfaced road was a bit hair raising at times but all of it was worth it. We did stop to enjoy and appreciate the view, at a viewing point along the way, Punto de Vista Sobre Puerto de Montana, spectacular.

Cofete is a small village in the western part of the Jandía peninsula.

The amazing beach with its golden sands just stretches out along the coast. The crystal clear blue/green waters crash on to the sand. Be aware that at times in can be rather windy and the waves can be rather large and swimming might not be advisable.

The beach is surrounded by mountainous terrain which just enhances the beauty of the place.

There are no facilities on the beach, nothing at all, which just serves to make it more amazing.

The infamous Winter Villa, subject of numerous conspiracy theories, is also visible from the beach.

While we were here we visited the Cemetery of Cofete which is on the beach.

We drove to the beach at Cofete as a family - not with a rental car like many others, but with the "public bus." And that was a good decision - the road is unpaved, very steep in places and narrow in places. There is a reason why the rental car companies on Fuerteventura expressly prohibit the use of such "roads." The journey in the bus (a converted four-wheel drive Unimog with around 20 seats) was already adventurous enough. The trip costs 8.70 euros there, and the same price again for the return trip. That's not cheap, but it's better than a broken rental car. We got on at the Cementario (cemetery) bus stop just outside Morro Jable. There is good parking here. The beach is fantastic, definitely the most beautiful on Fuerteventura, if not the entire Canary Islands. A must visit! The bus timetable is available online - line 111. This bus also goes to Puerto de la Cruz and the lighthouse at the southern tip (we actually drove there with our rental car, the route is much better than to Cofete). So off to the most beautiful and lonely beach in Fuerteventura 🙂

The 20 km long and challenging dirt road is the price to pay for a unique vision. Large ocean waves crash on an immense, white beach. A breathtaking show. I recommend swimming only if you are truly experienced because the strength of the undertow is truly dangerous. However, absolutely not to be missed

Incredible beach, amazing views. The drive is a gravel road, which is well maintained 35- 50kph is reasonable for 80%. slower near the top and the bends. The road is suitable for any car, corsa, camper van, anything, it really is. Its wide enough for 2 cars in most places. It has no guardrails and some large drops at the side near the top. If you are not into heights, it might cause concen but only for 5 mins hear the very top. A stunning drive and amazing scenery, was put off by some reviews, but it's so worth it, cemetery and Winter villa are average tbh. But the beach and Mountain s are next level awesome!!

Quiet and beautiful beach. If you walk 10 minutes from the parking lot you are totally alone, you can go nudism without being bothered by anyone.
We went by bus, which is a V E R G Ü E N Z A for the price it has.
Worse than the car of the clowns on TV. And it costs €8.70 per project and person. That is, 35 bucks for two people round trip.

one of the most beautiful beaches on the island due to the particularity of its wild access, 27 km of track, one hour there and the same amount on the return, a well-marked stony track at the exit of Morro Jable. the track also allows you to go to the Jandia Lighthouse. In the middle of the route at the top of the hill the view is fantastic and you can take photos with your hair in the wind, that's the least we can say. breath !!! the second part of the 8km track is done peacefully with any vehicle except those with rocker panels, be careful swimming is dangerous due to the currents but the walk is definitely worth it, there is also a restaurant at the beach but not tested

Probably the most sought after and popular beach in Fuerteventura can be reached by car or via a shuttle service departing from Morro Jable. The road to reach Cofete is a dirt road which was much improved during filming for the set of the Han Solo film (from the Star Wars saga), however I recommend caution when driving as there is no protection such as guardrails or walls along path. The beach is immense, lashed by the wind and with very strong sea currents. Also considering the force of the ocean, with large waves, I advise against swimming unless you are a skilled swimmer. I only saw a few surfers challenge the fury of the Cofete sea but the risk was high. In the area, also take a look at Villa Winter, shrouded in mystery and surrounded by legends, perhaps because it was built by a German entrepreneur who had strong friendships among the Nazis.
