There are many places with better 'views' than nacogdoches. You will enjoy being in the trees much better than trying to see above them. This would be a good place for a picnic to kill an hour or so. But not more.
It was on our route so we stopped at this scenic overlook. Although it does offer a long distance view of the Nacgdoches valley, I did not find it appealing enough that I'd go out of my way to visit again.
I have often visited the overlook when conditions were different and visibility much better. It is always an impressive view.
Perfect for a date night, the scenic overlook is just beautiful. Just be careful when you go out there at night, a lot of college and high school kids....
