    A fantastic day
We visited the park on a Wednesday hoping to beat the weekend crowds. I think we were successful. We arrived ten minutes before opening and parked for free right outside of the resort entrance. We had less than 200 yards to walk into the entryway. It took us no time at all to get through the gates even with a cooler and bags. We set our stuff down as recommended by others at the picnic tables and set off for our rides. Wait times were decent for the rides and nothing for rivers and pools, we found the staff to be incredibly helpful with directions and locations of rides. The lifeguards were awesome as we went through the ride, splashing and giggling, making jokes the whole time. The reviews scared me almost into not going. I would say our experiences were quite opposite of what I read by many. Reasonable times (esp for those of us who preferred pools and rivers), awesome staff, plenty of rides to enjoy, and a day of fun for all from teenagers all the way up to grandmother. We upgraded to the every 15 minute drinks. I’d suggest that half of your crew take advantage of that deal to stay hydrated. You get a paper cup (maybe 12 oz) every 15 minutes and can choose from soda, Powerade, lemonade, or water. The free bus ride from park to park was great. Short wait time for that too.

    Family Reunion Fun
Had a family reunion here. Kids if all ages and all had a fun time. Both sides of the park have fun things for all. The park does a good job managing so many people. The lines get long so go early. You can bring coolers in with food and drink which makes in really convenient. Free parking is a plus.

    Ten-star attraction! MUST DO!
There is a reason this waterpark has been voted #1 in the world for more than 20 years in a row! Not only is it huge (there are two parks that require shuttles to toggle between them), but the number and variety of slides is fantastic! We were there open to close and still wasn't able to ride everything. It's huge! SO much fun! And there are rides for all types and ages to enjoy. Some are calm, and others are level 5 thrill rides. I say do them all!! This was our best and most memorable day in San Antonio.

Avoid the lines and you'll have fun
We really enjoyed our time here! The park is crowded (we were there on a summer weekday, it was very busy), so expect long lines. Even the Fast Pass seemed to have lines. But we enjoyed the activities without lines. The lazy rivers were great. If you have littles, there are several attractions (small climbing structures with slides + spray) that don't have lines. I'd recommend on a hot day, and our family had a lot of fun.

Lines not as bad as expected, app/map needs a bit of work.
I have read alot of the reviews but decided to go anyway. Not downplaying anyone else's expirence, this is just my personal experience. The rides were good. We were able to get into what we wanted. The lines weren't terrible. And that's cause we arrived later than we wanted to. Maybe like at 11a. The lines were as follows: Tram (one way), straws, Bahnzai < 5 mins Tram (one way), Der Barh, Falls, Black Knight < 15 Mins Just wasn't as terrible as I expected. The staff did seem a bit inexperienced, but nothing that would really affect the vacation. The falls needs more water. We got a table just fine. We were in the pools with the kids. The app/map needs some work in comprehensiveness. Otherwise, not a bad experience, and the season pass sounds like a steal if you go often.

    Great waterpark for family atmosphere
We enjoyed a day at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels while on vacation in the Austin area. Compared to the Galveston location, its much bigger and better. We were there in late July and opted to spend a little extra on the fast pass since we only had one day and wanted to experience everything. In the end it was worth it because we were able to ride everything we wanted, even a few big slides multiple times, and still left the park by 5pm. I appreciate the free parking and ability to bring food into the park. We put some crackers and fruit in our locker and grazed during the day while purchasing drinks in the next door shop. The food smelled good when walking by but is pricey like most parks. We started the day off in the newer section of the park and found it quite clean and had several really good rides. We did take the bus to the older west section of the park and found it a little rough around the edges and were disappointed in the ride closures due to construction going on at the time. It still has a few really good slides and rides that make it worth it. In the end we went back to the new section and closed out the day. Having been to both Schlitterbahn locations, I would say this one is the better of the two. I would suggest researching the map and where rides are before you go if it's your first time. They do have some maps located throughout the park but they can be confusing. We plan to go again on the next trip to the Austin area.

    Don the Tram-Driver
A couple of friends and I had come here the recent weekend, and we had a very enjoyable time. But I'm making this review because our group had a problem with a Tram-Driver by the name of Don. At first it was a misunderstanding and I was aware that I was at fault, but this man decided to get irate and act very unprofessionally to not just to us, but to his fellow coworker by trying to get her in trouble for something she wasn't at fault for. Besides this one instance of a rude staff member, the rest were very nice and very helpful. Enjoyable experience.

Best waterpark 💦 byou will ever find!
The best waterpark you will ever visit for the whole family! We really like to swim and occasionally go to a waterpark 💦! We are with to adults, but we really appreciate this waterpark over any other waterpark we have ever visited! There are so many tuberides you can do together at the same time! These tube rides are available for children, teens, grownups! There are trill tuberides and 2 lazy rivers, more then enough swimming pools with waves/without waves/heated and cooler ones! The entire park is spring fed water based park, so no gloride pools and irritated eyes..... There are also a lot of trill body slides and you can enjoy a really good mantained and well decorated park... And there is still free parking, you can rent a locker for the day and season passes are available for normal prices ( oke, it isn't for free, but we think it is still very reasonably priced, if you look at the park and how many rides you can go on!

Fast pass is a rip off
The resort was great, but the park had multiple rides shut down. On Tuesday my son and his family joined and the have a little one. I rented a cabana which was great, but I also purchased the fast pass. Since we had a cabana at the old park, we stayed in the old park. Unfortunately two of the rides the fast pass works on were closed. Add to that, they changed the rules and you can only use it once per ride. So I spent all the extra for three rides. Don’t waste your money on the fast pass, especially if you going during the week.

1 word- cabana! Rent a cabana and get to the park early - 20 min prior to the open or earlier. Take in a cooler (no glass, no alcohol- otherwise bring it- check website but rolling coolers welcome).

If you have 16 or so people, split a Wunderbahna in the original park. It includes 4 towels to take home, a lockable safe, tv, full shade, table, couch, 2 loungers and is in a great spot.

The lines get long so take the tram immediately to Blastenhoff for the main 3 rides there, then head back to the main park and knock out the tube rides. It will thin out enough for the lines to move faster around 5-6pm.

Wear water shoes!

Schiltterbahn has been a part of our famalies memories for the past 20 years. We've always enjoyed the park, the service, and most importantly the atmosphere. We generally don't go to the waterparks near us because they are overrun with out of control teenagers and little to no enforcement of park rules. Schiltterbahn was an exception.

I hope there's still somebody left from the old Schiltterbahn management days or somebody new from Cedar Fair Entertainment Company that can start putting the park back on the right track.

I'll start with the good:
* The park and rides are still a good value. My kids love the tube chutes and all the pools. The unique setting and connection to Comal river is something no other waterpark in Texas can boast.
* Our experience with staff have been on the whole positive. They were all friendly, stopped to listen when asked a question, etc.
* The cooler policy is fantastic. For a family of 6, we can't afford to eat park food, so the option to bring our lunch in has *always* been a key attracting point for us. (Keep it up!)

The not so good:
* On this last trip, I needed to ask directions or clarification on ride status from staff and received either inaccurate information or no information. Simple questions like "Is Hillside tube chute the one over there? Is it open or closed?"
* More than once we needed a couple of water cups during our visit. Our trip was during the great heat wave of 2023. 107f peak during the day. Asking any of the vendors for a water cup was a roll of the dice. Some said we don't provide water cups, others said only at certain shops, and others said we had to buy something first. I'm sure this is a training and planning issues. Just a reminder, it's also law: Texas Admin Code 295.165.

The deal breakers:
* Schiltterbahn has a dresscode. It's listed on the website and states in part: "Thongs and transparent clothing are not permitted. We reserve the right to determine the appropriateness of swimwear." It is not enforced, nobody is making any determination. If management is reading this, take a trip through the park, see for yourself. Ask your staff how many people this season were asked to cover up or were turned away because of inappropriate swimwear. If the answer is "We're not sure." or "None." you're not abiding by the dress code as advertised.
* Foul and explicit language - You can't choose your float mates at Schiltterbahn and you can't get away from them. Same goes for standing in line. I'm under no illusion that Schlitterbahn can do anything to help the situation, so this goes mostly as a heads up to other parents. You will hear multiple explicit conversations while standing in line and floating the tube chutes.

Schiltterbahn used to have a family friendly atmosphere where Hill Country, water park, and German heritage all intersect for a day of fun. That may be lost forever as the park becomes more and more of your standard overcrowded, corporate run cash cow.

I had that dream of taking my kids to the park like my parents took me. We waited until they were over 48 inches and great swimmers and pulled the trigger. Took the week off work to specifically be there on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Then reality set in. So Expensive. Long lines filled with cursing college aged groups. A day filled with long walks, confusing maps, employees who have no idea what’s going on and keep sending you different directions. In one line we watched a woman pass out from the heat and a life guard yells “Stay Hydrated!!” Super helpful. The lines and walks are long and the heat is extreme. In the River areas where there were no lines, my kids got trampled over and over. Caught under tubes. I spent the whole day feeling like I had to protect them from the crowds of rowdy teens and young adults. Save your vacation time and money. Send them when they are the young adults.
