We are traveling across TX and this was on my list of must sees. It was even more rustic than I was expecting. Read a lot of the articles and photos on the walls. Would have loved to have been there for music. Nice to walk around the place on a weekday morning. We really enjoyed seeing the hall.

What a great bar and dance hall. So much fun with lots of great people to visit with. Enjoyed seeing all the memorabilia on the walls.

We did not go for a performance but we did walk-through after having lunch at the gristmill. I love the carvings on the tables and the benches and all the celebrity photographs on the walls. The neon beer advertisements are worth picture taking. It looks like there are many opportunities to go there for performances all week and throughout the... More

I am really glad I stopped in here. I travel alone but didn't feel uncomfortable at all being at this bar. Of course, I was there in the early evening. But there was still a great 3 piece trio playing the blues. I just sat at a table and had a beer and enjoyed looking at all the pictures of... More

What a neat little spot with great drinks! We made an afternoon of the Gruene Historic area on our recent vacation and liked it a lot. A pretty little spot to shop and eat and once you have done that you can kick back and listen to great music. We are not dancers but enjoyed watching other couples cut a... More

Gruene Hall is a great place to catch young and upcoming talent or sometimes or just get a cold beer. Hint: Very little parking in Gruene. Recommend getting a Uber or Lyft.

Being a local I go to GDH whenever they have someone I like listening to which is often. If you enjoy Americana music you won't be disappointed. It's a small venue so gets packed and can get really hot depending on time of year. Still a wonderful place to hear live music.

Has some of the best concerts. Dress appropriately...it is HOT in the summer. Depending on who is playing, the dance floor gets packed with people standing close to the stage, which doesn't leave room for dancing. The outdoor area is nice in the fall.

We traveled from the UK to visit this place. An amazing mixture of music and history, with all the live music you can wish for.Stay next door at the Gruene Mansion Inn and you can walk home after your night out,or sit on the balcony and listen. Well worth a visit.

It's a must do its a must see. The history as the oldest Dance Hall alone is reason to go. The names of people that have performed here is amazing. Find a singer you like and plan on a great night.
