The Sophienburg provides an in-depth view of the area's history of being settled by German immigrants. Early development is displayed with emphasis on the settlers' roots, and how they guided and influenced local growth, while cherishing and maintaining their heritage.

A very well done museum. It takes at least an hour to go thru it all. A nice collection of items from German immigrants that settled the area.

The Sophienburg Museum is kind of a hidden treasure within New Braunfels. While the museum is not large, it contains very interesting information on how the area was developed. The artifacts and information was very informative.
