There is a lot of history in a small space. The people are very friendly and helpful! Interesting from the time they purchased this land, to all the great displays of businesses.

What a wonderful City. This museum tells how the town started in the late 1800's when German Nobles brought unsatisfied German citizens to start a new life. It was here where one of the first Texas public schools was started. A nice tour. Oh, don't forget to stop at Krause's Cafe and Biergarten for some good German food.

This is a great museum about the German settlement of This area. An amazing collection of real artifacts which were very well curated. Highly recommend this; takes 2 hours or less. Learned a lot! Only suggestion- would have lived a pamphlet about the creation of the collection and museum.

Excellent visuals and written material -- well organized, drawing a visitor along. We were interested in learning more about the German heritage in New Braunfels, and this answered our interest perfectly. The location is easy to find, and the fee is reasonable. Good choice all around!

A very nice little museum with beautiful displays. It was interesting to learn about the beginnings of New Braunfels and the information is presented in an easy to read, very approachable format. Beautiful, authentic antiques from the early days are artfully laid out. We spent about an hour inside, including browsing the small gift shop. I recommend it for visitors of all ages.

We researched New Braunfels museums in case it was rainy or too hot. This small history museum explores the unique events behind New Braunfels founding by a German prince. Dioramas explore what life was like in New Braunfels, mostly in the year 1866 - taverns, the doctor, the newspaper, the general store, and so forth. There were also items you would not expect such as history of the orphanage.

We went there today and asked if they have a senior discount or military discount. We were informed there’s only an active military discount. In our opinion, military is military whether you’re active or retired. So we left. The woman was very abrupt in telling us this information, too.

It was interesting to see some of the artifacts and see how people lived many years ago. It is a small museum with a cute gift shop. The price for each person is $8.00 which did seem high to me.
