Nice place

Nice place to go for a few hours of bird watching, wave watching and beach walking. Picnic tables make for a nice place to sit and listen to the Gulf waves come in.

We went on the weekend and we were surprised by how few people were there. There was a big event in port Aransas which kept the crowds away. Definitely worth spending some time there.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Mustang Island State Park in the RV camping area with water & electric. There are not sewer hookups but there is a dump station. The RV park looks like a huge parking lot and has no view of the gulf because of the sand dunes. Most of the campsites are close together.... More

Had a great night of camping, staff was very Nice! You can drive right on the beach, put down a tent, and hit the water. The primitive sites only have portajohns, but full bathrooms with hot showers are close by.

Love this beach! Easy access. Parking lot is literally 100 feet from beach. There are showers at edge of parking lot and portapotties in lot. Covered picnic tables too!

There's lots to do and see in the area. However, if booking during spring break or summer, do it early. It books up fast. There are other camping options that aren't publicized on line as much as the state parks. For instance, County parks and some city parks offer overnight camping. That's what we did when we found Mustang to... More

Easy parking, showers and restrooms. Beaches were clean. Lots of sea shells near the jetty, especially after high tide.

We really appreciated the covered tables on the beach. It was some great shade on a bright sunny day. The beach is clean and people were very respectful. The kids loved it. The showers were very handy. well worth the $10 admission.
