situated on Port Isabel is the Historic Lighthouse sits atop a grassy knoll overlooking the Bay. Free to tour, you're able to climb the stairs to the top where there's an outdoor roundabout walkway to see 360 views. On all our travels, it's always a...More

There is a lot of good information on this part of the country. However, I don't think they have updated the museum in years. They have very old--worn out--hard to see videos showing on 1990 model televisions. A bunch of the displays don't work either....More

The only reason you stop there is because you are visiting the lighthouse. Mostly printed posters on the walls. Friendly staff, and free. But not that much to see.

This is a nice museum for the money. Displays are easy to read. There is a good mix of artifacts, pictures, signage and videos.

Looks good but they are not open Sunday or Monday, so we could not see it. I like closed on Sunday but for a musem in Port Isabel it may not be the wisest choice.

Had some trouble finding the place, but once there I enjoyed the visit. It has a nice overview of the Texas history. With a lot of interesting items not only about Texas but also about the history of the building.
