Rising above the Aransas Bay and surrounded by stately live oaks, the Fulton Mansion is located in the resort area of Rockport-Fulton. The house must have appeared incredible in 1877 with its mansard roof and ornate trim. Interior gas lighting, flush-toilets, and other refinements were progressive and luxurious elements for this part of Texas. Today, visitors journey through the restored home, getting a glimpse into the life of an affluent family in the late 1800s. Learn about 19th century innovations, walk through Harriet's garden, and hear stories of living in a grand Victorian villa.

This was a really great outing. We decided to tour it on a whim one morning of out trip. That week there were no organized tours, but there is a nice app you can use with your cell phone to guide you through each room. The mansion was nicely furnished and the commentary on the app was very informative. There... More

I went here because it said the house had some unusual features. That is true. They have really done an excellent job on the restoration and show you how the family lived. Never seen a house of this age that had the kitchen in the basement. They have just opened the basement for viewing and are still working to re-create... More

This historic house is fun to visit but also hosts lots of activities during the year for families. My favorite is the summer music series which is the 2nd Tuesday of the month June, July and August. There are beautiful lawns at the mansion with the sea breeze keeping it cool in the sticky summer and a variety of music... More

Must see for the beauty and history. The history of the original family and the building and operations of the home is very interesting. There are some features of this home not seen in other Texas homes of its vintage.

The restoration of this mansion was exceptionally well done. My husband and I arrived at the site a little after 10:00 a.m. and purchased our tickets for the 11:00 docent-led tour. While waiting for the tour to begin, we perused the exhibits in the visitor's center, which gave us some background on the home's history. We then toured the basement... More

This is a very interesting home from the past! The history of the family is also different. We enjoyed how forward thinking they were to construct all the contraptions in the basements! Wow!

This is a beautiful renovated mansion with several items that are original to the home. The cost is $6.00 per adult and is the same price if you take the guided tour which we did. We found both of our guides to be very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. It was also interesting that they left one section on... More

If you like history then you really need to tour this old home on the bay in Fulton. Renovated in 2013 to its former grandeur, the home will amaze you with it's featured luxuries for the time. Make sure to go with the docent-led tour.

Wasn't so sure about visiting but sure glad we did. Even though we were too late for the guided tour we still were able to do a self guided tour which turned out to be guided anyway. The staff took us though the building as we were the only ones visiting at this time and they seemed to be happy... More
