We probably were there at the wrong time or didn't wait long enough. Only saw a few bats, not the swarm I was expecting. Family have been there on other occasions and said it was awesome.

The good thing of going to Round Rock is zero hassle, you can arrive 5 minutes before and see a bunch of bats really close. No problem of parking and no waiting. The bad part is that the construction in I-35 take away some of...More

I have seen the bats under the Austin Congress Street Bridge, but if you want to see the bats come out at night, I think this was a better experience. There was a huge colony of bats. I sat on the east side of Interstate...More

Its hard to explain how cool it is to see, but you have to do this at least once in your life. Downtown Austin has the famous bridge to see the bats, but it is also kind of a pain to drive down there and...More

Bats nest at Round Rock under the McNeil Flyover. We were told of the location by chance after visiting the downtown Austin to see the bats there. Round Rock was by far the better experience but the numbers are less - only about one million!...More

This is a great treat for your eyes and we can witness a million bats fly in colonies and is worth the wait .

Not the greatest place to sit and watch but worth the thousands of bats that come out. Can be a little guano at times but still a sight to see! Much closer than the Austin bat bridge for viewing.

Great to get a foldable chair and sit in the Napa Auto Parts parking lot, or in the grass on the side of the street at dusk. The bats fly out into the night in mass quantities from under the bridge. You can also see...More

Park at the auto parts store, or on the grass next/nearby to it. be mindful that this is a busy area, and there are train tracks nearby. otherwise, you should be fine.
