Ila Loetscher, the "Turtle Lady of South Padre Island", originally formed our organization to save the Kemp's ridley sea turtle in 1977. Now we are a sea turtle hospital with a mission to rehabilitate and release any injured sea turtles, increase awareness concerning their safety and habitat, and assist with conservation efforts for all sea turtle species. We are funded by donations, grants and gift shop proceeds-- For rehabilitated sea turtle and hatchling release text message notifications, please see our website membership page. See you at Sea Turtle, Inc.!

Really enjoyed learning about the rescue, rehabilitation, and release program at South Padre Island. Sitting through The presentation makes it worthwhile in understanding the purpose of the place and the incredible work being done to help preserve sea turtles.

Love what they are doing. Sea turtle releases are fun to watch. Their rescue place is small but they are currently adding on so I can't wait to go back again when it is finished. Love the work they put into helping these turtles ❤️

My husband and I visited on a Tuesday and didn't have any trouble parking or getting in. The work that is being done at this location is phenomenal. It is well worth the stop and they have a great gift shop as well.
