(Warning: young adults from Central Florida in for vacation) We barely saw or heard anything man-made during our trip. Many times it just seemed like it was just our canoe surrounded by nature. We passed canyons high above our heads. Our guide pointed out areas of interest, history, and sections of nature along the way. ON TO THE CANOE TOUR... More

The day we got to Big Bend we called Carol who is the owner of Big Bend Tours. Carol helped us book a 1/2 day trip down the Rio Grande, we were really looking forward to our adventure! Wednesday afternoon came, we got to the office with our hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and big smiles! MIKE was our tour guide, he... More

We went with the local outfitter, just make reservations and show up. They will tell you what you need. A surprise, we had a snack at the end of the float, very nice and very clean. These guys are safe. Our guide was a fun person. You can ask for floats on several parts of the river. We did the... More

The staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. When we booked for an overnight down Santa Elena they didn't have anyone else for a rafting trip that week but not a problem. They charged us an extra $10 each, and we had the best private adventure down the river. The weather was chilly, so we were very worried... More

Our half-day float down the Rio Grande was great. The staff was friendly, helpful and humorous! Mike and Jason kept us laughing the whole time. The float itself through the canyons was peaceful and beautiful. We saw birds and lots of turtles and a javelina! It's a whole different perspective compared to hiking or seeing the canyon from the car.... More

Friendly staff and a great guide made our trip very enjoyable. We stumbled on the place, which is really easy as Teralingua is small. Better to call ahead and book though as places come and go fast. Call from a place you have good cell coverage (not easy in Big Bend) or you'll get cut off have way through giving... More

We booked a river tour with Big Bend and ended up doing the Hot Springs Canyon tour in Big Bend National Park. Lara was our guide and it was just the three of us! She was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the park. We had a great lunch and enjoyed the day very much!

The good: The scenery and guide were excellent. Beautiful sunrise, the guide was very engaged and knowledgeable and the scenery was fantastic. The bad: We signed up for the Santa Elana tour but were put on a different one.We put in the water about 9:30, 45 minutes for lunch and we were off the river by 2:15. Myself and two... More

I traveled with BBRTs down the Santa Elena Canyon on an overnight trip and it was excellent. Last year I did an overnight trip down Temple Canyon in canoes and this year we rafted the mighty Santa Elena. It is a daunting task to describe the beauty of this nearly pristine river and riparian zone that is obviously well protected... More
