Beautiful, peaceful state park. Been camping here before I can remember and have walked around the lake countless time. If your a state park goer...it's a must.

This park is very healthy and decently kept. However they have some policies that are unprofessional with regard to renting cabins and campsites. Rather than reserving cabins and enforcing the reservation, they do some odd first come first serve system. You may want to rent the cabin on the hill but if someone else makes it there before you you... More

I love taking my girls here just to have a "get away from electronics day." It's a nice safe place. I took them during their winter break (Christmas) from school. We did some fishing, trail walking and so forth. It was also a nice break for my wife from the kids (just kidding honey). It's not expensive - $6 per... More

We spent an afternoon exploring Tyler State Park with our boys in November of 2016. It was a bright, beautiful, not-too-warm day with a light breeze. We hiked around a bit, walked onto the observation platforms nearby, stopped at the swimming area for a while, and overall enjoyed ourselves immensely. The ranger was unusually kind to us on the way... More

There is a great lakeside trail that goes all the around the lake, with two spots with restrooms, and a bridge over water that goes by a beaver dam. The trail was about a mile. Staff at the store were so helpful. Take a picnic lunch and find a sheltered spot to enjoy views of the lake.

We had a great view from Lake View site #30. We were close enough to the spring fed lake to see it and have a fantastic view. There are a few sites that have direct lake access for a kayak or canoe but #30 is not one of them. So, if direct lake access is important to you, maybe pick... More

I love this park. It's great for taking a nice walk or having a picnic. Bring the kids and just relax. You can fish here or play with a frisby or just walk and take photos. Everyone in the Tyler area should spend some time here! It's a hidden jewel.

We have been visiting Tyler State Park the last 26 years. Usually spending Thanksgiving and Spring Break weeks there. Park Rangers are very helpful and drive thru the park all day. It is a beautiful State Park with all types of camping sites from rugged with water only, full hookups with water, electric and sewer, to screened shelters. The park... More

Absolute awesome State Park with really nice features and Picnic areas. Family found a picnic table & grill right next to the lake and had absolute fantastic time. Clean, easy access and friendly location. Restrooms were nearby and clean. My wife was quite surprised as it was not a normal park restroom

By far one of the best state parks I have stayed at. Our site had full hookups. Showers were individual entries as opposed to cubicles, very hot water. Great fishing and swimming areas. Close to other Tyler attractions as well as easy access to interstate highway.
