We traveled here while vacationing in nearby Holly Lake Ranch. They had a very informative video we watched before touring the mansion. It was so nice to see all the items in the house and visualize times past. It was like the folks just walked...More

Great historical home. No entry fee. Can casually walk through most rooms. Lots of original furnishings. Kids were amazed.

I was not sure of this visit at first, but it caught my attention from the time I entered the house. My mother suggested that we visit it but with reserve we did, Loved it. Lots of history of Tyler and the surrounding cities.

What a nicely maintained antebellum mansion. Large rooms decorated with furnishings of the day. Every room was as grand as the one you left. Just an amazing home of a time long ago.

My wife and I have toured many old homes and estates. Some are furnished with replicas, others with period pieces, but very few of them have the actual furniture and belongings of the family that makes the house worth seeing. This 1859 mansion is a...More

I was driving through Tyler and saw this beautiful old house. I stopped as it is open to the public. It has the original furnishings from the original 1800’s owners. The docent was quite friendly and knowledgeable.

Not sure too, but there is an entrance mon the side. If ever it's wheelchair accessible, it will only be the first floor. The second floor is a narrow staircase. Call them too, they're very helpful.
