I'm lucky enough to live in Waxahachie and can shop and eat at the Dove's Nest often. I have taken many family and friends and it is always a big hit. A great place to lunch and shop.......and just take in the seasonal decorations especially during the Christmas season........

I highly encourage you to make a reservation. The goat cheese artichoke dip is creamy and warm. The apricot chicken salad sandwich is delightful. The seasonal side salad paired well with the sandwich. The citrus dressing was my favorite. As a life long lover of bread pudding, I was really excited that blackberry bread pudding was on the menu. I... More

This is a very historical looking restaurant, the orange tea is delicious, the bread is home made, most of the salads have fruit, and nuts, so do the sandwiches.the atmosphere is very friendly, and relaxing. They also have a shopping store before you enter the restaurant with all kinds of goodies, too many to name. I would highly recommend this... More

This quaint shop has a HUGE variety of gifts/decor/clothing from antiques to modern and from handmade to mass produced. There is something here to attract every taste. It's a walk-through shop to access the restaurant by the same name, and it is completely delightful. Take a few minutes to look around, or take hours to examine the merchandise, but do... More

This shop has a rotating stock and is slightly different every time my wife returns, which is infrequently because we live out of state. But it is the one store she always likes to poke around in first. Antiques, replicas, adorable baby clothing, jewelry and lace, cooking and even a small restaurant attached.

Our advice is to try the Baked brie appetizer. Orange Tea is their signature drink. The chicken apricot salad is to die for. Wrap up your meal with their warm bread pudding with Rum sauce.

We went into this store looking for breakfast one Saturday morning. We didnt find any breakfast but instead found an amazing store and restaurant packed with goodies and adorable gifts. The service was excellent. The shop sells boutique style clothing and gifts for women and children. Very reasonably priced. We shopped for an hour waiting for the restaurant to open... More

Shopping a little pricy, but most antique shops are. But if you find what you want, no price is too great. Lunch is a must. The chicken salad will satisfy your taste buds to the tops. It is made fresh and served with pride. Gotta give it a try when in town.
