It's a bit of a drive, but if you want to take a look at a big rock that kind of resembles Joseph Smith, the Mormon prophet, "this is the place" to do it. Actually, I've been out there a few times, and it's a...More

My brothers and sisters and our families spend a few hours here most every Easter. The hike up to the Face is fun for all (even small children can make it with help as it is steep in a couple of places) and the adventurous...More

This place is way out there, like most places in that area. You have to drive a ways on a dirt road, but it is maintained. At the end of the road, you will see the stone face up on the hillside. The funnest part...More

Not really worth the trip. Off the main road.....on gravel for many miles. Unless you are going to climb up the steep hill to get a close up look.....you can't see much detail from below. A face....yes. But you tell me who.....

An incredible rock formation that really does look like a face in profile, many saying it looks like Joseph Smith, the prophet of the LDS church. Nearby are some Native American Petroglyphs

Perhaps it was because it was the last stop on our itinerary and we were too tired (lazy) to get out of the car to look at it from a different angle, but we could not see a clear "face" from this giant rock. The...More

The Great Stone Face is one of several caldera's in this horizontal lava flow which erupted under water when the Ancient Bonneville Lake covered this area and most of Utah. It gets its popularity among the locals because if one stands looking towards the East,...More

This is down a gravel/dirt road about 20 miles. Once you navigate through the cattle gates through an old abandoned farmstead you come upon a huge lave field from an ancient volcano. The road dead ends at the base of a steep bluff and at...More

Not a long drive from Delta but you still need to take plenty of water if in the summer. Harsh desert landscape and lots of rocks, You need to be lucky to see much wildlife in the area. A fun easy trip
