Greetings Kari – Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are glad you enjoyed your time in the canyon with us. Safety is Rick’s number one priority and he works hard to make every guest feel comfortable. Have a great spring and summer! Cheers, Rick & Amie More

Only being able to give a rating of 5 just isn't enough for our experience with Excursions of Escalante! Rick and Amie(and Davis too) were top notch from beginning to end. Our reserved day turned out to be cold (36 degrees) and drizzly rainy. We started with good hot coffee in the shop while gearing up and getting our safety/intro... More

Greetings Carmen – Thank you for taking the time to write this review! It is very much appreciated. We are so glad that you enjoyed your first canyoneering experience with us despite the not-so-wonderful weather! It is great to hear that this was a “life changing” experience for you! This was my fourth Excursion with Rick and it could not have been any better. Though Rick does the stores everyday he made us feel super special and made us feel like we were part of the family. He is super safe and instructs and differentiates for everyone in the group. He's simply fantastic. Although there are other Outfitters in... More

Our guide, Rick, was awesome! He made sure everything was done extra safely, but didn't stop having fun. He made us feel super comfortable, but definitely had us laughing. Through talking to us, he decided the perfect canyon. It was challenging, yet exciting and exhilarating. The views were beautiful and he made sure we stopped to take tons of pictures.... More

My two teenage sons (17 and 18) and I wanted a big adventure in a unique, awe inspiring environment without the crowds. We have explored much of Utah and Colorado and lots of other places and have hired guides several times--and frankly I'm critical of many and wondered about their value proposition. Not here! Rick, Amie, and their crew have... More

Went on a week long solo camping trip through southern Utah, and decided to spend one of my two days in GSENM canyoneering with Excursions of Escalante. It was a great decision! Rick is a charismatic, patient, knowledgeable and trustworthy guide. And Amy is a great host! The two are a dynamic duo, and you can tell right away that... More

I am an intermediate canyoneering and was looking to take my skill to the next level. Rick is THE guide of all guides. A compassionate and passionate teacher. He wants you to succeed. He wants you to be safe. One of my favorite concepts is his zen like attitude toward Cayoneering. Purposeful not slow, calculating not cavalier, creative not blunt.... More

My backpacking crew and I did this trip on our annual hiking trip. It was a great day. It was sufficiently challenging but yet we all felt safe on the trip. None of us are regular rock climbers and we all had fun

I can't say enough about how fun and informational our recent Canyoneering trip with Rick was. Rick was the ultimate teacher/leader; always emphasizing safety first and passionate about protecting us and the canyon we explored. As with all great teachers he was methodical and gently repetitive in his instructions. Part cheerleader ("you can do this guys!"), part naturalist (he rescued... More

My daughter and I spent a day with Rick exploring one of the many slot canyons near Escalante. Both of us had some, but not much, canyoneering experience with guides. Rick made it clear from the start of the day that our safety was paramount, but that having a remarkable, unique and fun experience ranked a close second. His enthusiasm... More
