Dirt roads are OK, a SUV will add comfort but not really necessary. Very nice place to visit and walk around. Take water and be prepared for elements but a camera is a must! Great photo opportunities abound! We highly recommend you go here.

Allow yourself a couple of hours to really scramble around, explore and take photos. Definitely worth a visit.

Easy walking paths to see the various formations. A short drive from our Escalante accommodation. Great scenery for photography.

Great food, good service. I had the Vegetarian Chili Rellano.....so yummy, so creative. Zucchini Quesadilla appetizer was delightful.

We were so impressed by the awesome and unique scenery. Nature creates the wonders. Less tourists but lots of camera spots.

If you are coming from Bryce Canyon, I wouldn’t bother to stop. The rock formations were interesting, but it was a long trip down a bumpy, gravel road for about 10 miles.

The road to reach Devil's Garden is totally passable but very much a washboard for almost the entire 10 miles. Worthwhile trip though if your car is up to it. Incredibly interesting rock formations. Hint - check with the visitor's center for Escalante, just west...More

I think it is. I do not recall seeing any signs saying no. It is good to check the website. Let me say this: I have never seen a BLM ranger out in the monument; only at their ranger station/visitor center at the edge of... More
