If you're passing by Crystal Geyser is a good place to stretch your legs and hope to see the Geyser. The mineral deposits from the geyser are interesting but not outstanding. We meet a couple there who had been waiting for hours and still didn't...More

Don't make this a destination trip. Explore the area for some nice "western" scenery. It was a 45 mile trip for us in a 4 wheeler. The trip to the geyser is down a well maintained dirt road.

Very bumpy and muddy road to it. The only water was a small flow out the bottom. As we were driving in we saw what looked like a water pipe along the road and we joked it fed the geyser. Maybe other days are better.

The drive down to the river - to the geyser - felt like driving on the set of an old western movie!! What fun! The geyser itself is rather small, but did spout/blow several times during our evening visit. It is off the beaten path,...More

OK. This natural feature is just a short jaunt from the freeway, so if you've never been to Mammoth Basin in Yellowstone, this will serve as a mini-sample. The geyser shoots off daily but not at regular intervals. Apparently a drilling project many years back...More

The geyser eruptions are sparse now due to tampering over the years, so camp a night or two to see it... No shade, but the river is cool. Fascinating colors of layers of mineral deposit around the geyser.

If you don't make it to Yellowstone then this is a good stop to see all the mineral deposits. The geyser only does small eruptions now, scientists believe it's from all the rocks that people have thrown in it. The mineral deposits however are spectacular....More

The geyser didn't erupt while we were there. A nice place to sit by the Green River in the middle of nowhere. We enjoyed the drive through the desert and viewing the abandoned military buildings.

this geyser allegedly erupts "irregularly". it does spew continually. river-rafting groups can pull out of the adjacent Green River and stop and visit here. fortunately we were the only ones here when we visited. Eh ...

You hear a lot about this geyser when you're in Green River, Utah. Don't expect a geyser on the magnitude of Old Faithful, this one is much smaller and a cold-water geyser. Eruptions aren't predictable, but it's fun to take a look at the area,...More
