About
The Paria River has cut deep into the soft sandstone, hundreds of feet deep, and the walls of the canyon are striated in bands of pink and red and ocher and copper and gold, smoothed by water into intricate rippled patterns and glazed by the sun.

This place is so beautiful! We rented a 4 wheel drive jeep to go here after reading other reviews and would not want to attempt visiting without that. It was a rough ride, but so fun! The old cemetery was very interesting. It's well worth...More

This place was absolutely stunning! The colors are amazing. The road gets really rough for the last part. We drove all the way in, in a Kia Sportage, and there were a couple of times we worried about bottoming out the vehicle. It was so...More

You feel like you’re driving on a road that you shouldn’t be on and you worry that you may get stuck but your sense of adventure keeps you driving down a stretch of road that becomes more beautiful as you go. The river itself isn’t...More

I was driving from Page to Las Vegas, and wanted to visit this place. The map this page was wrongly showing this place in south of Page. The co-ordinates for start of the gravel road off of 89 is 37.185419, -111.995685. The landscape was stunning....More

I loved Paria River Canyon. It was one of the best places we visited in Utah. The drive there was so scenic and took my breath away when we got out at the overlook. We parked our car and hiked. I enjoyed this so much....More

It is not hard to drive to Paria from US89. The Paria River usually flows they tell me. Ask Locals how to get to the reconstructed ghost town. We couldn't find it. Didn't matter much as we took 1000's of pictures.

Friends took us to this area and I was blown away! Just make sure you have a truck or 4-wheel drive vehicle if you go further into it. Don't think a sedan would make it.

We have a Honda Odyssey so we did not expect to get down this road for more than a mile Turns out, it was a great road for 4.6 miles ! So we got to see the painted cliffs and they were amazing. Did not...More

I came across a little notice of this and thought it'd be a nice little side detour on the way to somewhere else. WOW! You travel down a dirt road that gets a little iffy in places (we had four-wheel drive), but I'd never have...More

beautiful canyon and terrific colours. No old movie set buildings left only an original 1800 century cemetery.

We drove in there with no problem in our Jeep Cherokee 2WD Just be sure rain is not forecast or recently fallen. The place is beautiful and not big hikes are needed.
