This was well-worth the drive from Vernal! The scenery is beautiful and we enjoyed walking around taking in the views. The drive from Vernal was easy and really pretty!

It may be a bit out of the way, but Flaming Gorge is totally worth the drive to take in all its gorgeous beauty and great outdoor activities. My husband and I first visited in 2009 and came for a second visit this year. Our suggestions for a great time here: 1. Visit the Flaming Gorge Visitor Center next to... More

The red rock really does remind one of flames, and they surround the Gorge, making for beautiful photo ops. There are many activities available in the area including river rafting, hiking and scenic drives.

The views of the Green River and Flaming Gorge are simply stunning. The area is most definitely worth a visit, even if you are just passing through. You won't be disappointed. Even a short visit will become a long one as you constantly stop to feast your eyes on Nature's wonders

This was a great place to stop and visitor! Be sure to check out the dam while your here and check out some hiking trails. Would love to get back here to get the boat out on the water. There are a lot of options to do while your here!

We stayed a couple days here and are already wanting to go back. We stayed at Pine Forest RV park. It's a pretty and super clean rv park. We really loved it there. Also rented a river raft there that you pilot yourself. ..that was awesome. It's a beautiful area. I highly recommend going there for several days if you're... More

We'd been down 191 from Wyoming before, so we took 530 from Green River to Manila and then 44 back to 191. The views of tributaries and arms of Flaming Gorge along the way are special. When you get on 44, even more spectacular views await. You might also enjoy reading the geologic signs along 44, as this is the... More

Run the lovely Tower Rock Run 10km in Sheep Creek Canyon in August--spectacular scenery, nice folks. Stroll around the edge of Red Canyon and have a glass of wine in the Red Canyon Lodge. Park your car in the parking area near the dam and walk the trail by the river. Read the great book Into the Great Unknown about... More

Fantastic views - this place is worth the drive! Don't overlook Red Canyon. When we stopped in August, there was only 4 other people at Red Canyon. The views were amazing.
