Flaming Gorge is likely one of our country's best kept secrets. A haven for boating, fishing, rafting, hiking, camping... you can do it all here and without the crowds of our national parks. Several very cook places to rent lodging if camping is not your...More

We did not participate in any river activity but did "site seeing". The views are beautiful as you look into the gorge viewing the "ant sized" boats and boaters enjoying the river. We stopped at both the Flaming Gorge Dam Visitor Center and Red Canyon...More

Our September visit was perfect. Lots of fall colors. Not many people. Amazing canyon, especially at the Red Canyon overlook. Many of the campgrounds were closed however.

I was visiting rock springs for the rodeo and someone told me to drive around the park, Which is around 3 hours to complete if you go the speed limit. My first time took about 4 1/2 hours because I'm not used to driving so...More

This is a small spot on the map, but the scenic drive and the canyon views are well worth the effort. The drive is not as long as Beartooth Pass, but the views are fantastic. Take the time to drive out to the overlook.

Such a beautiful view the weather was perfect, green trees, warm water. I want to go back and rent a house boat.

It was beautiful but as we traversed the Sheep Creek Geological Loop we hit a rock which caused so much damage the car needed new engine. We had to get towed to Vernal where we were stranded for 3 days.

Th Flaming Gorge tour/visit was fine apart from the fact that the lifts/elevators are broken (until Nov 18) and as result you can't get down the base of the dam. The tour therefore is limited to the top of the dam. Never the less the...More

I can't offer any off-roading information, as we didn't do any - we stayed on the main roads on which we did receive cell service.

I'm sorry that I don't remember the name. However, it was a marina on the south side of the gorge. They had a restaurant (more of a bar with bar food) that is open on the weekends. It was a mile or so from the dam. If you... More
