We arrived 4.30 pm at the entrance and the man said the trail was closed. And the visitor centre was almost closed, so we had to make a U turn. We went away and drove to Forrest Gump Point. Glad we didn't spend the $20.

The walk is not so strenuous, it challenges but is fun. The sand does fill the shoes a bit! Although the 3.8 miles doesn't seem much, the sand makes it more physically demanding. Prepare for the walk and don't underestimate the heat. Fantastic to do...More

We hiked in late June, started around 9:00 a.m. Would recommend starting as early as possible, but with our drive we couldn't get there earlier. It was a beautiful sunny day, close to 100 and full sun. Be prepared! Wear hats, sunscreen, hiking boots, and...More

My husband and I hiked this trail in the morning and we are glad we did. The trail is usually closed from 11 to 5 when it’s really hot, so we decided to hike it at 7 am. There was no one on the trail...More

You should always respect a wild horse’s space. Don’t approach them or try to pet them. Dangerous for you terrifying for them.
