Nathan from Tuweep Tours provided our group of seven with an opportunity to experience a part of the Grand Canyon that we never would have had on our own. He was an excellent driver and guide. Appropriately friendly and informative, Nathan accommodated our wants and needs while ensuring we were enjoying the unique beauty along the way.

Spent two nights camping at Tuweep - which requires a previously purchased permit and a high clearance four-wheel drive vehicle. Definitely plan for several hours of bumping driving and a couple days of taking in the sights. Bring extra water and trash bags as everything needs to be hauled out. We learned the hard way - absolutely NO GLASS as... More

The scenery was fantastic, the driver was an expert on traversing horrible roads (the National Park Service should be ashamed of such road conditions). It would have been nice to have had more time to learn more about the geology of the area, and the flora and fauna too, but because of the rains and flooding our trip was cut... More

Our driver was on time, fun, informed and a very safe driver. We were comfortable and were given options and suggestions to suit us as group or individuals.

My 3 friends and I visited the Tuweep overlook with Tuweep Tours and we spent several hours there, having the entire Grand Canyon to ourselves for the first half of our stay. There are no fences at the edge. We laid down at the edge soaking it all in. For one of us this was the first time and possibly... More

Tuweep is the new park service name for Toroweap. The 61 mile rough washboarded road (with no services) still has the old BLM signs for Toroweap. When you enter the park service, after driving in Toroweap Canyon for a while, the road gets much worse. The last mile is on rock and takes an hour to drive. When you return... More

Tuweep is remote even though it's accessible by car. The night time views of the stars is fantastic and without light pollution. The daytime hikes along the rim offer drop away views of 3000 feet. No hand rails here! Recommend staying the night and taking in evening and morning light views of the canyon. This is a tough day trip... More

Tuweep was so remote, so gorgeous and raw.. I don't recommend it for everyone. If you love serenity, and no amenities.. this park is for you. If you're a running water, convenient stores and flush toilets type, then a day trip may fit you best. In reality, you'll never see another site in North America so stunningly beautiful. Every direction... More

The 61 mile 4WD road to Tuweep is a "tire eater" so we booked a tour with Dreamland Safari Tours in Kanab UT to take us there. Will, our guide and one of the owners of Dreamland Safaris, not only handled the road he offered information on the geology, plants and ecosystem of this beautiful area. We were able to... More
