If you are visiting Salt Lake City and have a car and a few hours to spare, the trip to Antelope Island is well worth the time. You will see a variety of rock formations, different views of the Great Salt Lake, a traditional farm,...More

If you want to gag stop at the causeway. The smell is overwhelming. We spent sometime chasing the flies. The lake on the otherside was much nicer. Couldn't see the stars as there was too much smoke from wildfires.

We enjoyed our visit to Antelope Island State Park. Did we see any antelope? Yes. One. But, mostly we saw bison. We also liked the historic ranch in the park where you can take a self-guided tour. There were some horses on the ranch. The...More

We came on a whim in the beginning of a road trip to Yellowstone. We got here about 2 PM. We saw lots of bison and a few pronghorns. There are also plenty of birds. Highly recommend!

$10 entrance fee gets you onto this isolated peninsula. We immediately say 4 large bison right near the visitor center and saw prancing antelope. The Visitor center has a herd tracker map that shows you where you need to go to see huge groups of...More

We took our daughter and her family to Antelope Island because we were curious to see just what it was. We were not disappointed. It was about dusk and the buffalo were literally out in herds very close to the highway. We also saw antelope,...More

There's really nothing here except a big baron island with view trees. There are some walking trails and good views of the Salt Lake. But after a while all of the views started to look alike and boring. Also, it's a long seemingly endless drive...More

Absolutely worth the drive in my opinion. $10 per car to enter the state park. Went to the visitor center to use bathrooms, buy more water and get a map. They told us where herds of buffalo had been spotted this morning. Lots of hiking...More

The park is open from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. if you camp you stay overnight. But the gates are locked. Emergencies are the only exception.

The majority of birds were by the lake. There were a lot of them in the shallow water. I would suggest early morning or evening.

They have not been especially bothersome for me, and I am one of those people who attracts insects of all kinds. I recommend visiting on a breezy day--on those days, bugs will be at a minimum.
