Antelope Island stands in the middle of the Salt Lake about 35 miles from SLC. It was pouring down in SLC but we soon left the rain behind as we headed towards the island. The entry cost is $10 per car for up to 6 passengers. The route across to the island is a road just above water level with... More

This is a great State Park. There are bisons, deers and many wild birds on this island. It is worth the drive and the hike. You need at least half a day though.

My daughter and I decided to visit Antelope Island before we headed back to good ole SC. We hiked Frary Peak. Nice trail but is on the difficult side. 3.2 miles one way. First .7 of a mile is rough. Next .5 miles is fairly easy, then about .3 mile or so is rough, then about .7 is real easy... More

Just about an hour from downtown SLC, is this state park with amazing views of Great Salt Lake from all angles. The entry fee is $10. As you drive around the island there are different places to stop and gaze. There's wildlife. We saw bison and antelope. Pack a picnic because there are several shelters with tables.

Located approx. an hour from Salt Lake City, Antelope Island State Park provides an excellent viewing of the large salt flats. While there are several trails, the most popular one is a short 0.8 mile walk to the top of a hill which provides 360º views of the area. Admission to the park is $10 per car.

Antelope Island, at an elevation of 1,618 m (5,308 ft), is the largest island in the Great Salt Lake. It is located on the southeast side of the lake near Salt Lake City, UT, USA. The northern portions of the 117 km2 (28,800 acre) island became a Utah state park in 1969. The whole island became a separate state park... More

The beauty of this island is overwhelming. From the grasslands to the high peaks, and back to the Great Salt Lake, this is just the most extraordinary piece of land. You can hike many, many trails and get the most breathtaking views. I did two impromptu hikes which on a cold, windy day was a challenge, but well worth it.... More

Antelope Island State Park representatives make it very clear that the bugs are bad from April until October. We camped and hiked here the first day of April thinking we might be early in the season and miss the bugs. Not so. If you don't like swarms of small flies all around your face while you hike, stay home. The... More

A good place to spend a half a day. It has a small visitor center, but some good hiking trails, and beautiful vistas.

This place is absolutely beautiful! You pay $10.00 to enter the park and you can stay from opening to close. There is a Marina, campgrounds, picnic spots, 36 miles of hiking trails, biking and a beach. Lots of good stuff for couple and/or families. The only area that is easily accessible for anyone handicapped would be the visitor center. Most... More
