This is off the beaten path but definitely worth the drive. During the drive, you are on BLM or federal land. Lots of cattle, wild horses, prong horns and sheep. Fantasy Canyon was a site to behold. It allows you to get up close to...More

It's a bit out of the way to get here but it 's worth a look. At first I thought it would be sandstone that was eroded by water but when you feel it, it's more like a concrete texture that was probably eroded by...More

This is a really fun place to explore, and to use your imagination, while looking at the amazing erosional features. There are weird shapes, lots of spooky-looking profiles, and it’s just interesting to see the power of water and wind over time. Please be respectful...More

Second visit. Canyon well signposted now, had difficulty finding it last visit, and a pit toilet with a warning about pygmy rattlesnakes. Didn't see any. I think that anywhere on the trail has fantastic hoodoos but the right hand loop seems to have the weirdest...More

This is like no place I have ever visited. The formations are amazing. I spent 1-2 hours there (and took lots of pictures). The "trail" is hard to follow in spots, but try to walk where you can see others have & you'll see the...More

This is a very small canyon in the middle of oil and gas fields about 40 minutes south of Vernal UT. We would not have known about it except for the owner of the RV Park we stayed telling us about it. Rock formations are...More

This place when driving up looks like you went on a long drive into the middle of nowhere for nothing, but then you get a nice surprise. Get out of the car and walk a little bit and WOW. Super cool, definitely worth the drive.

Fantasy Canyon is worth the drive through the BLM oil fields. You will see some of the most bizarre natural rock formations in Utah - and that saying something! Stop at the information booth first to figure out the trail first because the trail is...More

It’s definitely a drive to get there, but glad we did! The hiking trail is not well marked and it took some time to find it and then we lost it again along the way, but we saw most of it. The formations are unbelievable!...More

I didn't avail myself of the camping facilities, so I'm not really sure. EITHER Fantasy Canyon or Goblin Valley State Park has a campground and 2 yurts for rent, But I can't remember which one that is.
