We drove two hours to get out to the salt flats and it was 100% worth it. When you first arrive, it doesn’t look like much, sort of like a flat field of snow. You absolutely must walk/drive out towards the mountains until you reach...More

I went during the rainy season and caught a really good reflection. Definitely need to stop by and see it for yourself, It's a weird experience.

It is a must to have a car and drive along the freeway till you hit a rest stop. Stop at the rest stop and the salt flats are in front of you. Do not stop anywhere else on the freeway as it is dangerous.

The drive along the salt flats was unique, truly interesting. There are numerous places where people have put gass bottels into the ground or sculptures or rocks spelling words and forming shapes. It was a great place to get out and let the kids run...More

Lots of cool events, and much more than a race track. The Salt Flats are incredibly scenic, see them in person and you'll understand why it seems like half of the commercials on TV use film or shots from the Bonneville Salt Flats.

My parents stopped here when I was a little girl because we were huge race fans. Not sure how much use this area receives any more regarding that venue, but it was a nice stop that wasn't much out of the way. BLM manages this...More
