The Lake Champlain Ferry is great! It's a fast, economical way to visit upstate New York from VT. Save time and gas by taking the ferry!

Nice scenery and quicker than driving around the lake to go from Vermont to New York. My only issue is that it is ridiculous in this day and age that they don’t take credit or debit cards, especially with the number of travelers/ vacationers that...More

I took the ferry out of necessity: I was in Burlington for business and had to visit a client on the other side of the lake. The fee is $10.25 and is cash only. Staff at the booth are friendly, and staff at the dock...More

Niagara Falls is like 300 miles from Lake Champlain. Ausable Chasm (very cool!) is close to the Lake Champlain Ferry dock at Port Kent but I don't know about private tour guides in the area.

No ferry from Burlington to Montreal, there is a scenic ferry from Burlington to Port Kent, NY, then you would get on interstate 87 and drive north about an hour to Montreal.
