Always a good time

Chris is a gracious host and the cocktails are always incredible. Things I would never think of putting together. Do yourself a favor and tag along for at least one walk!

Cocktail walk delivered! We started at Misery Loves Company where we were served one of my favorite cocktails I've had in a long time - Hopscotch. It had Smuggler's Notch Hopped Gin and Urban Moonshine's Original Bitters, two small (and awesome) Vermont companies. Misery Loves Company also served a delicious array of charcuterie, cheese, pickled veg, and bread. Next up... More

Chris, our guide, took us on a wonderful day of visiting a working farm. The Bread and Butter farm had both livestock as well as veggies and other crops. Cory, the farm owner, explained the sustainable farming techniques used and the cooperative business ventures that make the farm financially feasible. After seeing the new piglets - they were adorable -... More

My wife and I spent an awesome morning with Chris of Vermont Farm Tours, making fresh mozzarella at Bread and Butter Farm. Our son and daughter-in-law gifted the workshop to me for a birthday/father's day gift. We couldn't be happier with the experience. Chris was extremely knowledgeable about the cheese making process, but was equally personable, organized and engaging. I... More

We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who loves food and wants to know more about the amazing food scene in Vermont! We spent an afternoon with Chris visiting two farms south of Burlington, Bread & Butter Farm and Fairy Tale Farm. We got to meet the farmers, see their gorgeous properties and learn how they work, and taste... More

My husband and I had a great time biking through the country in northern Vt. Chris organizes a great day, and it's for all biking levels, as you can catch a ride if you can't make the last hill! :) The Bread & Butter farm was fascinating, the winery was fun and the apple orchard stop for lunch was great... We were up in Burlington for Parents Weekend and wanted to do some active fun things with our 2 freshman boys. This bike ride was GREAT. They got to ride and learn about the local farming, wineries and orchards. Chris had everything well organized and the lunch was delicious. Nick at the Orchard was so funny! Learned alot at Bread... We had an excellent cheesemaking workshop at Vermont Farm Tours with Chris. Our two young children loved the opportunity to master the steps to make fresh mozzarella, and were thrilled to create their own cheese by hand (and to be able to eat it on the spot). They also enjoyed a tour around the farm, including the opportunity to visit... More

We wanted to do a more personal hands-on experience and we were rewarded with a very knowledgeable instructor in Chris Howell. Bread and Butter Farm was a beautiful location. Hearing the vision of the couple who own the farm was inspiring. Doesn't get much better than freshly picked tomatoes, basil, bread and a locally brewed cold beer.

Our motto is get out of the car. Not only did we get out of our car at Bread and Butter farm, we made mozzarella cheese and had a tour of the farm. We were greeted by Chris of Vermont Farm Tours, who took us to a table outside the farm store that would be our workspace for making the... More
