I just saw Cry It Out, a new play by Molly Smith Metzler, and it was a really fun evening in the theater. Dorset Theatre Festival, a professional summer company, consistently produces well-acted, well-directed plays with fine production values that rival any off-Broadway house in...More

Ok folks, this is the funnest little summer theatre in the land. Intimate, with excellent staff and ensemble casts, we have been regulars for over a decade and have never been disappointed. This summer we saw, "American Buffalo" starring Treat Williams and it was raw,...More

You don't have to go to the Berkshires to see excellent summer theatre. The Dorset Theatre Festival reliably produces wonderful plays in its very nice house. We just saw THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE and thoroughly enjoyed it. What a lot of fun.

Baskerville was a wild, slapstick farce. Three of the actors played various parts with a multitude of quick costume changes, accents, carriage & quirks. I am amazed they could keep it all straight. (My personal favorite was the baby.) There was much pantomime & histrionics....More

I've seen two plays here in the past year, both superbly produced and acted. This place is a gem in the Green Mountains. Last night we say Tyne and Tim Daly in a ply written just for them by Theresa Rebeck. I'm amazed that this...More

The theater itself is like a barn in the old Judy Garland/Mickey Rooney movies but with padded seats, air conditioning, digital sound systems and other modern amenities. The performers are comprised of Equity actors with extensive resumes, and the choices of plays by Artistic Director...More
