Superbly maintained facility hosting a 3 day, 800 bike motorcycle rally. Employees were friendly, courteous and helpful. Service in the bar and restaurants was spot on. Food and drinks were well prepared and offered at resort prices.

My husband and I took an easy 4 1/2 hr. ride north to Ludlow Vermont for a 2 night stay at the Jackson Gore Inn. (next door to Okemo) We had heard so much about this new Inn since it opened in December '03 and wanted to see it first hand before the craze of the winter. What a gorgeous place! It's ski in/out with 1 lift right outside the back doors, an indoor/outdoor pool, workout room, beautiful lobby bar, excellent gourmet restaurant (minus gourmet prices) and a huge lobby fieldstone fireplace. Besides the Inn accommodations, people can also rent or purchase condos within the Inn. Okemo is also in the process of building another building next to the Inn with more condos for purchase. Okemo golf course is 5 minutes away and that will be on our list of must do's for the next visit before winter! We are definitely considering a possible purchase!

1. Good all around, from beginners to advanced. There is something for everyone
2. Long runs, there is a good green slope you could relax on, it is a few miles long
3. It does get crowded at the lift on weekends, I'd stay away from Sun Burst if possible, 15-25 min wait
4. For crowd free head over to south side in the morning, few people and great runs, all are rated black diamond, there is one blue/green, but, the first time I took it, I ended up on blue / black. Not a big deal if you can ski, but if you have small kids, make sure you run through it yourself first.
5. Going to south side, you will take "Cat Nap" run that connects two main skiing trail branches. "Cat Nap" is ... slow, but the turn onto it is not. As you come off blue trail at fairly high speed and execute 90 degrees turn, pay attention! With 2017/18 season it rained/refroze a few weeks before and there was a solid ice patch under 0.25" of powder. My 8 year old flew right off and got stuck under a log. When med helpers came up to help to dig him out, one did a graceful split right in front of me on the same ice patch. This sport isn't chess, falls are expected, just heads up on that turn.

We bought the wristband online to save $5 each. Got to do the mountain coaster 3 times which I felt was a perfect amount of times. Played mini golf and did the Big Air jump. My daughter did the trampoline and wall climbing. The mining thing was fun too and cooler because it is in the shade. We did like the Spring House and use of the pool and hot tub. The locker rooms were nice and clean.

We always park at the Jackson Gore area of Okemo. Much more upscale than the Okemo base area and we dont have to do the "ODM" (Okemo death march) walking from Okemo parking lot,as Jackson Gore has a quick shuttle. Food is great, nice firepit and outdoor seating on a nice winter afternoon

We went here to ride on the Alpine Coaster. The ride was extremely fun albeit short (about 7 minutes total). This is a bona fide roller coaster with tracks and cables rather than a traditional slide.

The winter coaster ride is at this part of Okemo. It’s more of an alpine sled than a traditional roller coaster. Very fun for all ages.

I would've thought one time down would've been enough...but no. It was so much fun. Buy the 3-ride package. You will not be disappointed!

If you are headed to Vermont, and especially Okemo, you may enjoy easier parking at Jackson Gore, and it is also where the daycare and young kid lessons are. Hope this makes it easier!

Jackson Gore at Okemo is by far our favorite family ski area in New England! When taking our family of 5 skiing, including three young kids ranging from ages 4-11, convenience and activities are very important. This place has plenty for everyone!! We pull in Friday evening and drive right up to the lobby, where my wife and kids have hot chocolate in front of the fire at the Coleman Brook lobby bar while a valet takes our skis to the ski check and then meets me in the heated underground garage to take our luggage to our room. This seemed a little extravagant our first visit, but any father who's toted a carload of stuff up a few flights of stairs in the dark after driving a car full of kids for several hours on a Friday evening will quickly appreciate this parking facility, elevators, and the helpful staff!

In the morning we grab our skis at the ski check and walk 30 yards to the lift, after stopping at the Waffle Cabin, which has the BEST waffles ever. Okemo has lots of great trails for diverse skiers and great ski programs for the kids. The fun doesn't stop when lifts close though -Jackson Gore has other great amenities for parents and kids! We head to the lobby bar for après ski when the kids get tired, where my wife and I have drinks in front of the fire and the kids make s'mores with a table top grill. There's also a nice big outside fire pit surrounded with seating that is well fed with wood by staff into the night. But our kids aren't content to sit by any fire very long - a few marshmallows and chocolate bars seem to rejuvenate them and now they're ready to get to the outdoor pool and hot tubs! These are located right at the Jackson Gore Inn, so no jackets and boots and car ride required - just swimsuits and flip flops for the elevator ride down to the pool complex on the first floor of the Inn. There is also a sauna and steam room in the pool complex.

After a nice soak in the hot tub and a shower to wake up, we head to the Coleman Brook Tavern for dinner. It's on the first floor of the Inn and it shares the same comfortable feel as the lobby bar. The food is a little on the pricey side and nothing so great that you'll talk about it after you're back home, but it is as good as any slopeside restaurant we've been to and they have a terrific wine list.

By now we're all pretty wiped out so we head back to the room for a good night's sleep so we can do it all again. But instead of the outdoor pool, the next day we go to the indoor pool -which is in a separate building yet is close enough to walk to in bathing suits. That is, of course, after fitting in some tubing and a ride on the mountain coaster. There is also an indoor ice rink across the parking lot, which we've never had enough time to use.

The town of Ludlow has the basics - a grocery store, several ski shops, and a number of decent restaurants. Two restaurants worth mentioning are Harry's and American Pie. Harry's lost it's charm after recently moving to a larger, slightly tacky, location but the food is still pretty good. Great American Pie is one of a number of pizza joints in Ludlow, but their wood fired pizza is really good, which has made it a regular stop for takeout during our visits.

This trip is only three days but by the third I'm tired from trying to keep up with the kids! We're all pretty fatigued from a long winter this year in New England but on the drive back home we're already talking about how many visits to Jackson Gore we can fit in next year!
