Ample parking behind the store (not always the case in this poorly designed, traffic circle driven, outlet fueled downtown), this store is the bookstore version of the Vermont Country Store. Spacious and well-organized, there is something here for everyone, including a great street level cafe.

We thought we would visit based upon the reviews we had read plus, we love a good bookstore. We were pushed and shoved and elbowed throughout the store and that was mostly by the staff trying to get to a shelf or a specific book...More

Dear CTTravelers_too, I am very sorry that your experience at my store was disappointing. Obviously we aspire to much higher standards. We will use your comments as a learning experience for our staff and will hopefully do better in the future. Thank you for coming...More

Northshire is a must visit (along with Orvis and Eileen Fisher) while in Manchester. Even a Kindle fan will love this book shop. History, fiction, children's books - they are all there....the service staff is excellent and the store is pet friendly!

Located in a rambling old house, this bookstore has universal appeal. The chiildren. immediately dissappeared up an iron staircase to the floor dedicated to their interests. The husband also wandered off to his interests, and I was left alone, trying not to but everything in...More

This store has been in Manchester as long as I can remember. It is large but feels small when shopping. They sponsor lectures and still have book signings. It is what a book store should be, informative, fun and part of the community. Also, it...More
