Now closed. This was a great bookstore, with lots of very good used and new books, with an emphasis on art, history, fiction, and the outdoors. They merged with Bear Pond Books, just across the street, which is a fine bookstore in its own rite. The old Rivendell space has been taken over by Down Home Kitchen, which serves a... More

It was great but it is now closed. It closed several years ago. It is out of business. It combined with Bear Pond Books in the same city of Montpelier Vermont.

Fairly large selection of new and used books, especially for the relativity small size of the store. Trading cards and equipment for role playing games also populated the isles in abundance. The graphic novel and comic book section itself was even better than many comic book stores.

I love browsing through all the books at Rivendell Books. The customer service representatives are always helpful and seem really excited to research a book. It is always a great experience shopping here.

love this super cozy store. they have a great selection and the staff are extremely helpful. its great to see the businesses like this thrive while huge chain bookstores are failing. you will never get customer service as good as at a locally owned place like this!

Rivendell is a very nice, local bookstore. They have a plethora of used books as well as new. They have a wide selection of titles and can order anything they don't already have. They buy used books from people in the community which is great for me. I read alot and take in a box every once in awhile to... More

A little cramped in the aisles, but great selection of new and used books. Independent store - lots more fun and character than one of the big boxes. Helpful staff.

It was an interesting bookshop that had a lot of things that I didn't think that they would have.
