For some reason, I was thinking this wasn't really a top place I wanted to go on our trip to Quechee Gorge and Marsh Billings Rockefeller National Park. I am sooo glad my husband suggested we go, because it actually ended up being my favorite thing on our day trip of these locations. We got to see the raptor show... More

Educational and rehab facility. More than a zoo, excellent staff and educational programs. Get up close to the animals.

Our stop at VINS Nature Center ended up being one of the highlights of our trip around New England. It's a really great place that does great work rehabilitating birds and giving sanctuary to those who are permanently injured. Everyone on the staff was very knowledgeable, happy to answer questions, and we really enjoyed the raptor and reptile demonstrations. I... More

The VINS Nature Center was a good rainy day activity. We learned a lot about the different birds of prey - and non birds of prey - that they rehab. They have the very best interest of these birds who can no longer survive in the wild at heart. The raptor presentation we went to was outstanding!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The guide was very informative. We were glad to pay the admission price that helps with rehabilitation and care of injured birds and those who cannot be returned to the wild. Eagles, hawks, owls, falcons.

What a great place! Sick or injured birds are cared for until they're healthy enough to return to the wild. All of the birds pictured have injuries that wouldn't allow them to survive so they're permanent residents. Every employee we met was friendly & knowledgeable. Plus, they're so enthusiastic - it's contagious. I left w/a greater understanding & appreciation for... More

We stopped in here on a whim and I'm so glad we did. We arrived right after the raptor show started and got to see most of it. I highly recommend trying to see this. There were around five birds brought out that you could see close up and learn about. After the show we walked around and show the... More

We were looking for a place to snow shoe on a beautiful sunny day in February. Decided to go the VINS center to see what they offered. Our visit was awesome. Not only did we enjoy a guided snow shoe tour in the woods, we also learned about different birds in the area and were treated to a raptor presentation... More

Make sure you check the schedule and time your visit to the educational programs, which are neat. Lots of birds of prey to see, and the educators offer some worthwhile visits with owls. Worth the admission price.

We drove 3 hours for a weekend getaway specifically for VINS nature center's Owl Festival. We had seen an ad on Facebook for it and since our daughter loves owls, thought it would be fun. There was not enough stuff to do for the amount of people who showed up, so that every mini event held was completely packed, standing... More
