We were so pleased that Martha volunteered her time to open the church for us in February. She gave us history on the church, and allowed us to venture around. The original wooden structure is a marvel. If you are into vintage architecture, be sure to include this as a stop. The outside looks cool, but inside - - unbelievable!

Great review which the Richmond Historical Society appreciates. We are not normally open during the winter months, but are usually able to find a volunteer to give a tour if given advance notice. More

We saw the church from the interstate while we were driving to Waterbury from Burlington. We wanted to stop on the way back and go inside and look around, but we were running late from our activities in the Waterbury and Stowe areas. It looks wonderful from the road.

The Church is open during the summer from 10 until 4. Hopefully you will have time to stop next time. It is a National Historic Landmark and well worth a visit. More

Built over 200 years ago this building in the Federal style was used by the town for meetings and by five different congregations for over 160 years before becoming unsafe. Thanks to a $180,000 dollar restoration, the building is again used for town meetings. The church is on a small green and my early fall visit was very nice. Tours... More

A fantastic piece of architecture a 'Must See' if you are visiting Stowe. The internal architecture is as stunning as the exterior, you also don't have to be religious tomappreciate the splendour of this building.

We were fortunate to find this building open and staffed with a very knowledgable tour guide. So interesting and our 6 year old granddaughter enjoyed playing pretend in the pews and pulpit.

This 16-sided sided church was finished in 1813 and served as a community center for worship and civic activities. Over 250 years later ORC still serves as center of activity for Richmond. From Christmas carols, to concerts, markets, and lots of weddings, there is always something going on at ORC. During the summer months volunteers provide tours and the history... More

Just happened by on the way to Birds of Vermont. Stopped and was surprised that a guide was there to explain the history of this church. It is on the National Registry too.

This is a historical landmark in the Richmond area dating back to 1812!. It is a 16 sided polygon. The church is very quaint and it is a fun stopping point when traveling thru the area during the summer months.. Inside, there are doors on the pews and back in the day, the donations of families secured their family pew.... More

My wife and I visited on a day trip and found the church that's maintained by the historical society. The gentleman that greeted us was very knowledgeable about the eary construction and pointed out various feature of the building. It's a must see in the leaf season.
