- reader630Davison, Michigan59 contributionsExcellent Values! What a delightful place! Despite the crowded conditions in there, the staff were both friendly and helpful. The quality of the merchandise and prices showed good values. Given our travels, the staff accommodated shipping our purchase to our home. Thank-you, Vermont Country Store!Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten October 22, 2023
- mk00916 contributionsAll that I hoped it would be!So much fun, so much to look at! We visited the other location the next day, and that was equally good. Actually liked the non-Weston location a little better because of the layout and space, but you really can't go wrong with either.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten November 10, 2023
- MaryFall River, Massachusetts260 contributionsA Must Stop!We have been to the one in Rockingham, VT but this is the original one. It has the same things but has a little more of a hometown country flare. Very nice wait staff and you can easily find what you are looking for. From cheeses, candy, cookies, toys from a distant past, kitchen items, clothing, you name it you could possible find it in this store. Definitely worth spending some time there.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten July 22, 2024

We always loved going to the Vermont Country Store. It is so nostalgic, and we always buy little gifts for ourselves or others. We always come out with candy and other edibles.
Sadly, we discovered that this place is not very user-friendly for people using canes, walkers or wheelchairs. There is handicap parking, however once you go inside, there are store sections divided by stairs. I was terrified holding my 89 year old mother’s walker while she let go to go down a few steps.
We won’t be going back.
Please get with the times.

We used to enjoy a stop at the Vermont Country Store whenever visiting the area, but this visit left us disappointed.
The prices have gotten a bit ridiculous, staff members were hard to find, and there were so many tourists (like us) so it made the whole shopping experience less enjoyable. The variety of products in the store has also decreased.....IF we need to purchase anything from this store in the future, it will be online.

First and foremost, this is a tourist trap. Buses of tourists milling around leave no doubt of that, but I was very surprised to find that many f the prices were much more reasonable than I expected. I have received a couple of their catalogs and knew the clothing was pricey. However, looking at it closely the prices seemed fair given the quality of the products. The store is huge with a myriad of souvenirs, clothing items, food products, toys, candy - you name it, there's a good chance The Vermont Country Store has it. If you are on Route 100, it is almost impossible not to stop and look around (and probably spend some money!).

I ordered several items from the Vermont Country Store on June 20, 2020. First time customer. I paid nearly 20 dollars for shipping. I've been tracking my items for more than 10 days. The delivery date kept changing and now is at "no delivery date scheduled". Needless to say I'm not a happy customer.

We had never been to a VT Country Store before and I'm glad we went. They have such a diverse merchandise selection, from clothing to fudge. They have old toys, socks, jellies, dipping sauces, venison jerky. etc. I thought some of the prices were crazy high, so we just got a few things that we couldn't find elsewhere, like fudge and chipotle sauce. It was a good experience.

I recently ordered an item of clothing from the Vermont Country Store. The clothing in question is a cargo coat which I ordered from this company and purchased on or about 1 February 2024. The Vermont Country Store supposedly used the United Parcel Service to send me the cargo coat. It was supposed to have arrived within about a week or so, but it never arrived. I finally called the Vermont Country Store a week ago. The employees of this company could not account for the whereabouts of the cargo coat. I reordered the cargo coat last week, but it still has not arrived. At this rate, I have no idea when or if the cargo coat will ever arrive. This is the first time that I have ever purchased a product from this particular company. I have absolutely no idea whether or not I will ever receive the cargo coat in question via a UPS delivery from the Vermont Country Store. This company should bolster it's quality control protocols. Perhaps I should have bought a cargo coat from Amazon. I would rather not use a Chinese-owned company like Amazon to buy products. However, if the Vermont Country Store is going to be this inefficient, then I will never again purchase anything from this company which thus far has had a dubious quality control record in its dealings with me. When I finally received the cargo coat, the zipper malfunctioned badly. i had to try to zip up the coat several times just to put the coat on. i would like to reiterate that the Vermont Company should bolster the quality of its merchandise and the efficiency of it logisitical systems.

Found staff aloof and unfriendly
We asked about some high end items for the home but the response from clerks seemed uninterested in helping us. We tried another clerk, same apathy towards us. We saw some potential bedding that matched our antique decor, and planned to spend well, but with such an unpleasant experience, we left empty handed.

I bought a housedress online a few months ago and I had to exchange it for a smaller size. Clothes in this store tend to run really large. I sent it back through the process they explained to me--using a return tag that they sent me--and requested a replacement. A bit more than a month ago I got a letter from them stating that I owed them 9.95 "for your recent order". I was in the middle of moving and, since I had not ordered anything, I did not pay much attention to it. Still, it was in the back of my mind. So, when I had a moment, last week, I called to check what the issue was about.
I was truly shocked by their response. Firstly, because they would charged any money for the exchange in size. It was never explained to me that by doing the exchange through them I had to pay for a return. And secondly, and worse, they told me that I no longer owed anything because they had charged that 9.95 to my credit card--without permission or communication to that effect.
I buy often in online sites such as Newman, Nordstroms, Gilt, RueLala, etc. I have never encounter such practices. Of course, I will never buy from this outlet again, and I recommend that you think twice before doing it as well.

This is an extremely unique store, with products not seen for years. A nostalgic look back in time. The store is spacious with many gift idea. The staff is friendly and professional. The only problem I saw was the pricing is way to high. Many products I've seen in other stores for far less. They need to lower their price point

A huge variety of clothing, toys, food, candy, cheese and eclectics. It’s a whole day of poking around if you want or sit and play checkers like I saw one family doing. Nicely displayed and non-crowded aisles. Fall could be really busy as traffic steady even on a sleety November day.
