Challenging hike

If you love to hike, this is a great challenge. A couple of different site stops along the way but I believe a total of 6 miles all together.

My husband and dog and I hike every trial every year and it never gets old. Not a great view at the top but great spots along the way. Go early and avoid the traffic on the trails.

Beautiful scenery, great hiking trails and viewing areas for anyone to enjoy. The fall time with the leaves change is a great time to see some great colors.

We hiked the trail at the top of the mountain. Easier hikes but you can find more challenging ones. Cool observation tower at the top. Perfect "leaf peeping"

We drove to the "midway" point of Futures trail. We have a sturdy 8 y.o. and the trail was challenging for him and his reasonably fit parents! But the views were worth it. Many people at the top of the Observation Tower -- find a hang glider launch for less crowded vistas. Wear sturdy shoes even if driving to the... More

We did the short hike to the top of Mt Ascutney. Easy and enjoyable. The drive up to top was beautiful and we stopped so my husband could get nice views with his drone. Glad we went.

Just got back from our son's wedding that took place on the top of the mountain. 30 in attendance. Walked the last mile from the parking lot. Great views. Memorable location. highly recommend it for outdoor folks too. On the trail down to the bottom (way past the parking lot), there's a super cool spring and a series of water... More

We stopped by here on our journey from northern Vermont to Connecticut, so we didn't stay too long. Paid $8 to drive up the auto road to near the summit - a relatively straightforward drive and no worries about being able to pass downward traffic. There are a couple of stopping points on the way up, and then a car... More

Great hike! A bit weird in that you kind of go around and down before you go up. Cascade falls is very cool! Not terribly strenuous, but certainly a bit of endurance being a total of approx. 6mi. It's windy up there, so an extra layer helps. The West Point vista is amazing & worth the detour! The summit has... More
