Founded in 2000, Veramar Vineyard was one of the first successful wineries in the northern Shenandoah Valley. The vineyard is run by James and Della Bogaty, who were original members of the Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail. Justin, their son, is the winemaker. He is a graduate of VMI and has a certificate of oenology from UC Davis. Our wine is internationally-acclaimed, and is made at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

As We were traveling through West Virginia and going from Harpers Ferry towards Black Water Falls our GPS had us on Route 7 on that small northern section that goes through Virginia. Traveling through my Co pilot (my best friend ... aka 'my wife') notices a road side marker for Veramar Winery. Now if you've seen some of my past... More

I thought the young lady giving the wine tasting was very knowledgeable and did the tasting in good timing, not lingering and not rushed. We enjoyed the majority of their wines. You can not eat your own food inside but you can outside on patio. They have a large grass area where you could bring your own chairs if their... More

After our plans for the day fell through, I took my parents to this winery. It was in a lovely setting and the server Amberly was super friendly. My dad and I did a tasting and the wines left a little to be desired. The wines were rather sour and had some weird aftertastes. It left a little to be... More

We stumbled upon this vineyard completely by chance and so glad we did !! It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and they had fabulous live music and the wine was great. Lovely outdoor area . No food to speak of which was a shame although they did do a cheese platter . The woman who helped us couldn't have been... More

This is a beautiful winery. It was way too hot to enjoy a glass of wine outside. So we enjoyed the wine inside. We really enjoyed the whites, but we're not overly impressed with reds. Overall worth a visit!

We have visited nearly every winery (multiple times) in Loudoun, Fauquier, PW, Stafford, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren... nearly all in Northern VA... But had not visited this one yet, but after driving by it many times, we finally stopped in. We liked the venue, really pretty! The tasting room was pretty and quaint and the property was really nice! We liked... More

Nice location, wine club selections were excellent, one of the staff members was very knowledgeable and helpful with selections. A large group was coming in during our tasting so it seemed rushed. Would go back to see if there is a difference. Lovely views.

Had a nice laid back relaxing time at Veramar today. Our wine picks are the Red Rooster Bordeaux, Cab and Pink Chicken Rose. The D'Ora is a great option for dessert wine drinkers. There was one server in the tasting room today. She did an excellent job helping everyone as they came in to taste and purchase wine. We will... More
