Founded in 2000, Veramar Vineyard was one of the first successful wineries in the northern Shenandoah Valley. The vineyard is run by James and Della Bogaty, who were original members of the Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail. Justin, their son, is the winemaker. He is a graduate of VMI and has a certificate of oenology from UC Davis. Our wine is internationally-acclaimed, and is made at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

My wife and I have visited a couple of times. Beautiful setting and a great place to spend a serene afternoon with some very good wine. Tasting is $10 per person (reasonable); this time we opted to just buy a bottle of "Rooster Red" for $28 (also reasonable). Would recommend, however, that you bring your own picnic basket, vice buy bread/cheese/salami... More

My husband and I have been club memeber for quit some time and we usually enjoy ourselves very much however on our last visit this past weekend, we were very disappointed. We came in to pick up our quarterly shipment and were greated right away however thats where the greatness stopped. The young lady that helped us was very friendly... More

My two grown daughters and I spent a lovely couple of hours on the patio with a glass of wine after doing a tasting tour. The wines are quite good and the vineyard has won awards for their offerings. Friendly staff and beautiful area. Reasonable cost; however their desert wine, which is quite good, is mislabled as 750ml in a... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at Veramar. The views are beautiful, and there are a variety of quiet, comfortable places to sit with a glass of wine or have a small picnic--tables on the stone patio or along the pine hedge, a large swinging bench by the pond, or a white gazebo with a view of the valley. The tasting... More

My husband and I visited Veramar Vineyards hoping to find a nice wine or two. We ended up walking away with much more than that! After sampling several wines (most of which were wonderful), we were told that we could purchase a glass or bottle of wine to enjoy on the large patio. We also had the option of purchasing... More

We stopped here to do a tasting and will go back again. We were not too impressed by the wines, we thought the Chardonnay was good enough to get a bottle to enjoy outside while taking in the scenery. I HIGHLY recommend bringing your own food or picnic, which a lot of people did and they allow outside. The food... More

While Veramar is not located in Africa, its actually something right out of Africa. Imagine sitting in a comfy adirondack chair with a chilled glass of Veramar wine along with some of their cheese they offer while gazing at the fields in the foreground of the Shenandoah River and the hazy Blue Ridge Mountain. Any time now, one would expect... More

I went there with a group of friends over the weekend. You can bring your own food and eat outside, which was nice. A few of us did the full tasting and then we say outside for ours chatting with a few bottles of wine. The women who work there are super nice. The vineyard was beautiful and not too... More

Veramar Vineyard is a great little hideway, tucked off the main road by just a few miles. They have a great vibe, and host many events as well as regular hours for wine tasting. You can sit inside in the tasting room, or enjoy their lovely patio with firepits for those chilly days. The view of the vineyard and mountains... More

We stopped at the Veramar Vineyard for a tasting in the late afternoon. It is a really beautiful spot, overlooking a mountain ridge with lots of tables to sit by to enjoy the view with a glass ($7) or bottle ($20 - 26) of wine. Our wine host was friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The wines were a real stand out,... More
