One of the few historic sites in the Blacksburg area but yet not many visitors. The descendants of the plantation’s owners appear to have help settle the wild western frontier of Virginia and Parts of the farm land now makeup the Virginia Tech campus. Beautiful...More

My mom and I toured Smithfield Plantation while visiting Blacksburg. The tour was very interesting and our guide was very informative. The home had a lot of artifacts and it was interesting to learn the history and uses of them.

We took family to visit on a day with nothing particular to do. We were delighted with the historical guide, the attentiveness of the staff and the quality of the exhibits and store.
