This drive was the culmination of a wonderful set of circumstances. Being a Virginia native, I'd never returned to the town I left for good in early childhood. So Hubby and I detoured off I-95 during our current road trip to check out Virginia's east...More

I love the convenience when going homeward bound from VB to NYC/NJ, but as a citizen of VB and a taxpayer in the state of VA, we need a break on the toll.More

Thank you for your review! As you travel the East Coast Corridor, this facility offers a savings with time and mileage vs. traveling I-95. Please know that this 23-mile facility was constructed and is operated without the use of federal, state or local tax money....More

After several trips back and forth across this marvel of engineering we finally stopped at the Gift Shop/Dining Area. A good place to stretch ones legs and see the water up close. Gift shop staff is friendly and helpful. Been wearing my CBBT T-shirt. And...More

Inspirational drive across water, through tunnels, and over bridges that connects Virginia Beach to the Eastern Virginia Shore and into Maryland. Well maintained roads and gorgeous views , but watch speed (55 mph MAX), wind shear, and resist urge to pass for safety. One restaurant...More

We took the bridge from Norfolk to Cape Charles, there are 2 under water tunels on the way, the view from the bridge is amazing espeacially around the sunset. There is a restaurant grill over one of the tunels but we did not stop there....More

OMW! This is definitely worth the 13 dollar toll fees! We stopped at Island 2 for a hearty (tasty) breakfast at the Chesapeake Grill. The 1 mile tunnels are very well lit. The traffic flows so freely. Highly recommended.

Traveling across this bridge was a “bucket list item” for me, and it finally happened. We had an early crossing of 7:30 AM so the sun was low in the sky on the left as we headed south. We had a chance to really enjoy...More

It is exciting to travel across the bridge-tunnel. We enjoy seeing the boats and ocean. We always stop on the one island. We check out what people are catching on the fishing pier. If your lucky you might get to watch a big ship cross...More

This is one of those things that is sort of cool to do if you don't have a lot planned for an afternoon. Nice 23 or so mile trip over to the Eastern Shore.

Interesting to see the tunnel and bridge and boats! Well lit and fast to travel through. It was 13$ each way but worth it to get to the eastern shores.

I did not experience any construction on either end of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel during our travel.
How much does it cost

Tolls are dependent on the type of vehicle you are driving when you cross. Passenger cars and pick-up trucks are $13 one way on Monday thru Friday; $15 if you are traveling on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday before September... More
