Thomas Jefferson was many things, and the guides at Monticello do an excellent job of presenting the facets of a brilliant thinker and doer, warts and all. The house itself is interesting in its architecture and gadgetry. It's nice, but not crushingly ornate like some...More

We loved Monticello! Our teenage son wanted to visit and after seeing Mount Vernon was much more impressed with Jefferson's home. It is beautiful and the views breathtaking. A definite national treasure.

Pay online the day before your visit and get $3 off your ticket. The gardens are beautiful and it is worth spending the day and enjoying all of the scenery.

My daughter and I took her 3 boys on the family tour. It was geared towards the kids with special props and fun facts for them. So informative yet entertaining. So glad we went and I highly recommend.

House tour and garden tour were really well done. Everyone was friendly and the facility was clean. I recommend that you buy and read the National Geographic Monticello tour book and Americas First Daughter - makes it all come alive!!
