We had a great visit to Montecello! Our tour guide was funny, knowledgable and enthusiastic, bringing us around the grounds and through the museum that is Thomas Jefferson's home. There must be thousands of artifacts to be viewed close up! And the views are spectacular!

Told it was a must see venue and we were not disappointed. Surprisingly small house but well thought out for the owner. The tour guide around the house could give the National Trusr a run for their money. There are timed tickets 5 min apart...More

To be able to set foot on land where US history was shaped; to walk where Jefferson walked; to see the vistas that our 3rd president saw ... It is almost too much to process. The quality of the preservation, and the professionalism of the...More

If you haven't been to Monticello and are in the area, it is a must stop. I wouldn't schedule a vacation around it as the sole destination because there are so many other things to see and do in Virginia in close distance but this...More

Well worth the visit. I will probably go back another time to book a tour of the second floor or the tour of slavery.

Minimum 2 hrs to tour the mansion and the grounds. You can spend an additional hour at the visitor's center. If you like hiking, you can add more time to walk their trails too.
