This golf course is challenging and fun to play. Many blind shots and the par threes are spectacular. I played it twice.

Excellent golf course owned by the UVA foundation, but public. Staff is fantastic, they go out of their way to be helpful. Course conditions were superb, drained well after heavy rains. Highly re.commended

This course is nestled amongst the rolling hills of Albemarle County that Jefferson loved so much. Home of the UVA men’s and women’s golf teams, it is a very nice course with a reasonably difficult layout, especially on the back nine. On the “Plus” side-...More

I was genuinely excited to play Birdwood. After finishing, I was really glad I was done and really disappointed I'd paid so much to play. The golf course tee-to-green is pretty good. Tee-to-green it's a decent layout, with the exception of the 11th hole, and...More

When I went to law school here, current UVA students could get a semester, all-you-can-play pass for $200. As a result, I played at least the front nine nearly every Monday through Thursday afternoon. I remain a surprisingly bad golfer despite all that practice. The...More

We stayed at The Boar's Head and thoroughly enjoyed this venue. The best fairways and greens we played in Virginia. The course is in excellent condition. Well organized and accommodating.

We did the stay and play package at the Boars Head Inn, which included a round at Birdwood. The Golf course is beautiful, well maintained and managed. Start times were on time and the marshalls were always available to keep things moving along. The course...More

Absolutely one of the nicest courses I have played. If you are looking for a trip to play golf this is it. Bent Grass tee boxes, fairways and greens. The greens must be close to a 13 but very receptive to approach shots.
